lowerwestjnr Hardly squared up. Started shouting at him and picked him up. It wasn't simulation. You never know Gervinho's slap could of hit a nerve was made him lose his balance.

Handsome ManShackleton Royal Anyone see Joey Barton today?? What a disgrace!! How did he not get sent off for his reaction to Gervinho!!??
Match of the Day showed the ref got it right over the cards. Gervinho hit Barton, so it was red. Barton didn't hit Gervinho, just pulled him up - yellow card.

Ian Royal If the ref had actually seen it Barton was a gonna. He turned round just in time to see Barton go down.

Seeing p*ssed off players try and drag someone up off the floor is never a red. I certainly can't recall a single similar incident that was any more than a yellow

I can't say I've ever seen anything like it happen before at all. You can't grab someone and haul them around. Really, trying to make out he just picked him up off the floor is a ludicrous rewriting of what actually happened.

TheMaraudingDog To be fair to De Gea, he's got off to a better start than Schmeichel did.

Young has proved so far that its good not to just give up even if your let go as a youngster...
Orginally we let him go due to not being physical enough but he wanted to prove a point and has done.

Hats off indeed for Young.

cmonurz Watched the Stoke v Chelsea game earlier.
Couple of observations - moans about a couple of things I guess we all accept are part and parcel of the game...
- 'Marking' the keeper at set pieces. Torres, Kenwyne Jones, whoever - I'd like to see something done about such obvious unsporting behaviour. You're a predatory striker, a good finisher, great with your head; so why the fcuk are you standing in the keeper's armpit?
- Falling into a tackle. Now don't get me wrong, the tackle on Lampard was a foul, and Chelsea should have had a penalty, but Lampard bought the foul, I froze the screen at the point of impact and you can see he is already on the top of his foot and going down, as he takes the contact. Just not very sporting, whatever happened to trying to stay on your feet?
