my mate at Uni claimed to have won the Scottish schools 800m title in 1992 in a measly 1min 58 secs, and was a fat cunt, so id not look into this too much.

That's not too bad a time for a schoolboy,especially a fat one.

Its very average for a 17 year old 6th former when the best juniors in the country will do sub 1min 50sec

Yep, 1.58 for 800m currently gets you ranked 120th in Britain at U20 level. It is still a good time though, just nothing exceptional.

Saw him play for blackpool last week v sheff wed. Looks like a raw Shane Long so I think we probably did have a look. Pacey and strong, but not much came off for him. That said Blackpool were all over a poor side and didn't score so im glad we passed.
