Speculation - Henri Lansbury

by Big Foot » 21 Aug 2011 12:04

According to the Sunday Times, he's available for £1m

I'd be very very happy with his signing, thought he looked useful for Norwich last season.

If he's no more than that, would add the touch of class we need, great buy.

He'd add buckets of creativity to midfield...thats what we need .....currently we have two in the engine room, the enigma that is Kebe and the "over-rated who rarely delivers" Mcanuff ...

It doesn't really matter what he'd add if our system doesn't allow for him to play. We don't really have a striker capable of playing upfront on his own at the moment and McDermott's made it abundently clear that he wants two defensive midfielders in his 4-4-2.

Plan B Ian ...or does he have one ? .......he obv puts two defensive ones in the centre because it is expected that the two wide men will be the creative part of the team.......this approach did the team well last season but there has to be an option to mix it a bit or elle we will become too predictable with the way we set up ...shut down the wide men, because little threat will come from the centre ...all IMHO

Would prefer Andros Townsend from Spurs if I'm being picky but both are unlikely

We're not going to pay £1m for someone to be "Plan B".

Otherwise you're absolutely spot on with our creative problem.

IR totally agree ...we arent going to spend £1m ...i was thinking more of the midfield problem as opposed to the cost to sort it...Lansbury would be a good purchase to sort, but as you rightly say , any bid would be nowhere near the asking price

At least she'd probably work out what our problems are.

Yes please but at that price I can't see us being interested, and he would have his pick of Championship clubs.

That is very true; he played a small role in Eng U21 Euro's, so he's got to have something in the locker. Not a chance of getting him, If he were to be loaned, it will be to either Norwich or another Prem team!!
