We have no one that should be on above 15k a week judging by their achievements, never mind an average wage of 20k including youth team players on that. Our wages our way too much for the calibre of players we have. Shane long was on reportedly 9k a week...that should give you some perspective on why this makes no sense.

Have to agree with the majority of this; albeit I wouldn't say it's completely fair to say we're a failure in terms of judging their achievements...

Last year, the second FA Cup run in consecutive turn, a Play-Off Final... that is not bad whatsoever. And as far as current achievements, we're oxf*rd 4 games in... But like I said, I do agree with you mostly because at this level I don't think anyone should be over 15k anyway. And that of the Premiership, quote me a wage? Some of them are just fcuking ridiculous - and I understand by this I'm opening up another subject in itself but ya know what I'm saying.

15k is appropriate for that of an RFC player IMHO.

If the hotel is included in the accounts for RFC holdings - then it is perfectly feasible that money is moved around within the accounts pertaining to the extension of the hotel. It doesn't have to list anything separately - it's all lumped together. So, I'm perfectly happy to accept the apologies from those who denied the hotel was even in the accounts when I mentioned it earlier on today.

I didn't say we'd be paying them 2k a week, its probably quadruple that. Tell me how many of that team you think will be above 15k-ish a week. I'd love to know. Kebe and mcanuff and thats at a PUSH. As for squad size, you are aware of how many are youth products that would be on youth wages or wages to reflect their unknown status in the game? We are absolutely 100% not paying HRK, Pearce, Karacan, Mcarthy, obita, church,etc anything CLOSE to 15k per week. I don't know what to tell you if you think otherwise. We NEED to see who is getting paid what to actually understand our wage structure and I have a strong suspicion a big portion of those wages are not going on the playing personnel.

I said this morning that the accounts are for RFC Holdings which INCLUDES the hotel - however, the know-it-alls shot me down and said that the hotel is owned by Copthorne or something and do not appear in the accounts.

This is a FAR more likely scenario, one I would agree with you on. There just cannot be any fathomable way a team largely made up of unproven players, youth prospects and academy players can get near 20 million a season on wages, I am surprised people are even trying to argue against it.

Yes I know - but the know-it-alls have suddenly gone all quiet and are ignoring it as they were absolutely certain I was talking shit earlier.

Small, but perhaps helpful observation - Payroll costs in the y/e June 2010 were £18.1m, but that will include Employers NIC which means actual gross wages paid to employees would be circa £16.3m.

Am not saying anyone has lied at all.

Just pointing out that using published accounts as absolute proof that all is rosy is a little naive.
