Secondly, SJM takes no salary, no dividends and no money out of the club other than interest on his loans of £20m. This is at a rate BELOW base rate, so is currently NIL. both this, and the ammounts the hotel have lost are really very negligible compared to the ammounts of money people seem to think we should be spending. think they are both red herrings imo.

Isn't that patently obvious? He's saying we didn't receive the sums guessed at in the media and on here for players and that even if the headline sale price was correct we wouldn't recieve that amount after everyone's (agents in the main) taken their cut

Transfer fees are often deferred by clubs and staged over two or three seasons hence the money is not available straight away... This is good for the finances providing the club you have sold the player too does not go into administartion

For example: The reported £4m fee for Mills could be staged in 3 payments

£2m - Immediate down payment
£1m - At the end of the 2011/ 2012 season or before the 2012 / 2013 season starts
£1m - Last payment, with clauses in 18 - 24 months time

hence why we dont announce them, or else everyone would be up in arms saying we should be spending 50% of what we got in..........................oh

but again- the money you are talking about will be @ preferential rates we wouldnt get from another land owner, so actually thats him saving us money, not stealing it from us.

i think thats what rankles really- the insinuation that he is stealing money from the club, syphoning it off somewhere, outside of the club accounts, and barefaced lieing to us about it.

OK, so if SJM take anything out of the club, that is wrong. Is that the issue? Because if it is, then the likes of Z175 are wasting their time trying to write reasoned and informed posts.

Can anyone elaborate on Madejski's comments concerning the sale of top players. Is he seriously suggesting RFC would be no more had we not sold our best players?

And as I wrote before, if we didn't get £11m combined for Mills and Long, why the hell did we sell them at all?

More than we got - if we know how much Agents etc take, we should have added more to the selling price shirley? If they're saying that we £x million for a player but in reality that is reduced to £x million due to agent fees etc - then you build that in to the equation when setting a selling price.

But the issue isn't "we didn't get enough for players we sold" it's "if HNA's "experts" say we got 7 million for a player it doesn't mean we can walk in Tesco and buy 7 million quid's worth of booze and fags"
