Z175
NR_Royal I'll be a Reading-born millionaire after tonights Euromillions...

unlucky.

heres an idea.

The next jackpot is £118m.

However there are only some 75m combinations.
As tickets are £2 an investment of £75m should secure 50% of the tickets.

The total prize pot is £150m. Therefore you should win roughly an extra £15m of half of the £30m of other prizes.

I make it out to be risking £50m to win £130m at odds of 50-50.

SJM should totally do this. The £80m profits could be split 50-50 between Mr Mad and RFC.

Except that Joe Punter who happens to have the same numbers on their one ticket reduces your income by 50% and make the whole thing untenable.

Blackburn's current owners Venkey's claimed they were offered a Championship club but couldn't agree terms of the sale. Wonder if this was us?

If no Joe Punter wins the J-Pot and you do, you make a very nice profit.

But your 75M would boost the first prize to nearer 200M so you'd still make a profit if there was ONE J-Punter taking 100M

Mind you a 3-way split and you'd be losing 9M before your multi-small-prize pickups. Doesn't bear thinking about 4/5/6/7/8/ way shares. Suggest a gun.

Sadly it would n't boost the jackpot as the Euromillions rules don't allow for that. There is a top limit on the jackpot - and I am sure it is a lot less than 200M

A rumour for one of the reasons why the Madstad has failed to be sold is because Mr Madj will not give up the naming rights for the stadium as one of the conditions is that he wants the stadium to continue to be named after him. I agree with him as I would hate us to become the Kellogs Frosties stadium or something like that.

Isn't the story that he didn't name the stadium himself, and that it was a board decision?
Though, there probably were only options of 'The Madejski' or 'The Auto Trader mega average bowl'

SJM will sell the football club but retain ownership of the hotel and stadium to then LEASE back to Reading FC and London Irish

That has been said but it'll be a load of bollocks. He wants his name all over the town. I bet he didn't want the school in Whitley named after him either...

If memory serves me the idea was that the final part of the financing for the stadium was going to be met by company naming rights. Nobody wanted to stump up so SJM was forced to. I guess he's perfectly entitled to name it after himself in that case. Is it any different to Dave Whelan naming his Wigan's stadium after the company he was synonymous with. He then subsequently sold said business and now has his initials plastered all over the ground.

I heard at the time that the idea was Nigel Howe's.
