Ian Royal If Leicester offer I'd far rather pay him to rot in the reserves for a year than let them have him.

Cannot see our Chairman taking the same view - can you?

For Leicester, I'd bloody hope so. Anyone else and it'd be different.

Sell Kebe for £4m, get Robbo in from Millwall and we've got a seriously good back 4 there. Would like Jobi playing central with Legs or Caravan and Obita / Kanu on wings. Goals goals goals in that team.

If you'd said to me at the end of last season Kebe was off, I'd be very concerned. But the way Obita and HRK have come on i'm not as worried. Saying that I still don't want to see Kebe leave!

If Kebe is on international duty - or any other player from other teams invovled in transfer talk - how does it work? They can't have a medical and they can't sign any paperwork in person....

If Kebe doesn't go today, he'll go in January I reckon. Wasn't he meant to have been signing a contract extension on Sunday?

Chairman has just said on BBCRB that he is not expecting any movement today (although he did put a caveat in).

Nothing to see then - window may as well close now.

I think that on top of the other sales, even £4m (if Leicester were prepared to offer that much) wouldn't compens8 for the loss of our most dangerous player and the damage to morale.

True, provided of course he remains our most dangerous player and doesn't cop the hump by being denied a big money move. Fragile little things, some professional footballers.

On a practical level I agree - but at the same time we can't just adopt that attitude whenever a good offer is made for one of our players. We have to fight occasionally. Sig was different because of the enormous amount of money involved (Mills too, relative to his "quality") and it looks like the club had made promises to Long that we would sell him to a Premiership club. I can't see that any of those justifications apply to Kebe.

Can't disagree in principle but it depends on the individual I guess. I've no idea how Kebe would react but its not just about letting one of our highest paid players (I would imagine) rot in the reserves and then losing him for nothing as a matter of principle.

He's good friends with Manset too by all accounts which may be reason for playing hard ball or may be another reason to tread carefully.

We still have the problem of replacing him without having the extra income. Also he may already have a get out clause that allows him to go for a certain price whch doesn't necessarily have a caveat of it having to be a Premiership team.

If Leicester really do want him though then as with Mills they do seem prepared to pay over the odds to get him so its debatable whether the "enormous money relative to quality" justification will then stand.

These are all "ifs" and none of them may be relevant but I'm still not sure that simply "refusing to do business" will really helps us.

Leicester Mercury confirming a 4M bid for Kebe

http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/L ... story.html

Will be interesting if true. Club have said publicly they will not sell - but I have to say if it were me and Kebe will not sign a new contract today then I would probably take it.

as much as i think he is god, and as much as it would pain me to lose him, and as bereft of any real flair as it will leave our team, id have to say 4 million for a man whos contract is up, is too good to turn down.
