Speculation - Dos Santos

by M-U-R-T-Y » 01 Sep 2011 16:28

Spurs pulled the plug on his move to Sevilla last night, to the anger of Dos Santos - and he hasn't be given a squad number for the forthcoming season/until Jan.

Spent time on loan in the Champ before with Ipswich, could it be a wise move for RFC to go in for him on loan when the window opens?

Wages? But he is just what we need, we could then implement the 4-3-3 with Le Fondre, Kebe and McAnuff, with him behind supported by Karacan and Legs, and a strong defence. That would be a VERY dangerous side.

But if you go 433 why get someone else in when we already have Brian Howard?

Ask yourself: who would I rather have?
An average championship player who gives the ball away to often, doesn't score enough and may be past his best
Or,
A young, talented player who scores goals, has a wide range of passing and doesn't look out of place in a Barcalona side?
I know my choice!

that would be the attacking midfielder/forward we need. can't see us affording the wages though, certainly not until howard and m.williams go.

Yes he has played in the Championship with Ipswich. 2 and a half years ago, when he was 19, a few months after he came to England.

At the age of 21/22, I don't think an established international player capable of playing in La Liga will be looking at the arse end of the Championship as the perfect enhancement to his CV.

Whilst I accept his options are limited if he wants to get game time, I would think a more likely destination would be a club with pots of cash, with a manager weak willed enough massage the poor little waif's delicate ego at the expense of team spirit, whilst also desparate enough to make a "marquee" signing with an acknowledged attitude problem for the sake of a bit of positive PR.

Leicester City it is then.
