ZacNaloen They responded to supporters wishes, just a different type of supporter who appear to outnumber or are at least louder than those who want hoops.

Now we have closed the survey we know that 2/3rds of those replying agreed strongly with blue and white hoops, white shorts and white socks and less than 10% disagreed slightly or strongly.

So once we have analysed the results we will be able to tell the club with more certainty what supporters want.

Result!

Better than us moaning about it on here. I guess we'll next July when the new shirt is released.

Sweet!

Also point out that if they change the colour of the text back to what it used to be we wouldn't have this readability problem.

It wasn't that long ago we had red text :?

What was the response number?

Because 2/3rds of 23 people isn't going to get you anywhere. 2/3rds of 2300 people might.

Interesting article in the Hobnob archives about our proposed change form hoops to stripes back in 1995 along with a badge change and a letter from the club:

Interesting to see Donny wore hoops all round and didn't have a plain panel for their numbers. Come on RFC - from next season we should have the same. And any talk of "it's against the rules" or whatever has now been proven to be bollox. And even if SKY insist on having a plain panel - it's not so difficult to have a plain panel for the team just on "TV" games - it's not like we'll be having many of them.

Good read - thanks. I'd be interested to see what the badge designs looked like but the images don't work in the article anymore. Does that mean that our present badge was designed by a fan in the end?

Hopefully the STAR survey might be something the club has to take a bit more notice of, and if its put to the them this early in the season then they would have time fit it into the decision making process (if they choose to obviously).

Our present badge was designed by a company, iirc. As is it, I quite like it, it grew on me. I mean, it has the royalty (you could say the red is a bit of a royalty as well as the crown) and a bit of history (the hoops and the Maiwand lion).

I don't know quite why people have a problem with it, it is a million miles better than the one designed by Roger Smee's daughter.

Our shirt from a couple of seasons ago started off with full hoops, then it was changed to a phucking back panel.
Red lettering and numbers are more than enough to make it stand out. Sort it aaarrrrrttt :!:

Even this would be acceptable and better than this seasons shambles.

And so, yesterday on SKY - QPR wore hoops all round and no panel to put the number on - so it's not even anything to do with being able to see numbers clearly on TV.

Except that last week the commentators were complaining about the difficulty of seeing the numbers on the QPR shirts.

But it's still the clubs choice, not something they have to adhere to. Also, this is Reading. We might feature once on telly this season. No excuses for the shambles of a plain white back.

Shambles? We're talking about the colour of the back of a football shirt?

Maybe people ought to get a sense of proportion.

"Shambles" should be reserved for important things, like describing polls/competitions in AE.
