Terminal Boardom I agree RR. Seeing a winger do his stuff and destroy a full back is one of the joys of football. As is seeing a tough tackling central midfielder wipe out an opposing player with a perfectly timed tackle. But with Jimmy Kebe, all you get is a Forest Gump feeling.

roadrunner Far from it. But everyone loves a pacey winger and he has proved in spits and spurts that he is unbeatable on his day, and those that don't watch him week in and week out only see the good bits. He's too inconsistant and currently looks disinterested. It wont be the end of the world if he does a few months earlier than expected.
Step up Jordan Obita and give the kid a chance to show what's he's all about, along with HRK and McAnuff.

M-U-R-T-Y Hammond appears to be talking about wages, but Jimmy the length of the contract, odd. Offering him a 12 month extension is a bit of a joke, when McAnuff has been handed a 3 year contract.
Fair play on him for coming out and speaking, maybe if Hammond pulls his finger out and offers him a deal he deserves, he'll get back to his best again.

lol the whole credibility in that article can be dismissed by reading the first paragraph.
"James Harper believes Reading new boy Jimmy Kebe is set to take the Premier League by storm, likening him to former Arsenal star Thierry Henry."
That was enough for me.

Elmer Park Offering any player only a one year extension to their contract usually means the Club are unsure of that player's long term value and effectively means the player is 'on trial'. Extremely odd then to make this the opening offer to Kebe. From that moment I would say the chances of getting him to sign a new deal reduced considerably. Much better to have opened with at least a two year deal and then when and if the player's wage demands exceeded that they could have the said they could only afford wages approaching that level on an initial one year basis with a review in a year's time.
If the situation on and off the field doesn't improve considerably before January I can see little point in not selling Jimmy in January for the best price we can get.

Probably a dig at me... usually is.
Although if it is it's funny, because I'm far from Kebe's biggest fan.
