What do we need in the January Sales?

With 3 weeks to go before the transfer window opens up, realistically (ie: NOT a 50 goal a season striker!!) what sort of additional players do we need to add to the squad?

I'll start with the following:

1. A creative &/or goal-scoring midfield player.
2. A winger to replace Kebe (who is likely to be moving on)
3. Central defensive cover

i'll second those three but this is reading and john madejski we're talking about so i expect one, two at a stretch, to join next month.

if we keep kebe until the summer then i doubt we'll see another winger coming in yet.

I expect more outgoings than incomings. Get the wage bill down, cut the cloth even more accordingly and maybe see if there are any good bargains out there.

Is Howard's loan until then end of the season? If not I'd like to see him sold in January.
Morrison out on loan would seem the right thing to do as well. He was very promising at Swindon but hasn't had a chance here yet and needs to be playing football.

I saw Howard play a few weeks back at Millwall and he was dreadful. I would not lose a moment's sleep if he left permanently. Marcus Williams should also depart if something can be done with the Blades. Morrison is one who could well figure especially if Pearce and / or Gorkss get suspended. There is also the FA Cup tie coming up against Stevenage so may be an opportunity for some of the fringe players to be put in the shop window.

Khumalo is also certain to be returning to Spurs so I can see another CB being brought in, unless McD is looking at one of the youngsters to fil the gap.

It wasn't intended to be an inclusive list, and Goalkeeper was so obvious I didn't need to type it.......
