I met two Bulgarian Royals at a CSKA Sofia game when I was there on a boys weekend (the Bobby Mikhailov link) they knew all the players from the Mcghee era to present. Interestingly they were pretty certain CSKA had won the game 2-0 before it started such was the corruption at the time. Because they spoke English the police asked them to look out for us as there was potential for a major law and order dispute about to kick off such was the ruining off the national game by bent officials and politicians. All ended peacefully (and 2-0) and they drove us safely back to our hotel about ten miles away.

Probably so he can discuss his football club with people who aren't massive nerds that post on message boards complaining about the team's pre match huddle or trying to make stats back up their particular viewpoint without taking others views into account or that the stats can be MISLEADING

Encountered a Reading fan at a shopping centre in Warrandyte, Australia, a couple of years ago (Warrandyte is a small village - pop. around 4,000 - outside Melbourne where I used to live - close to where the 2009 bush fires took place). He was wearing his shirt after we had lost to Spurs (the result 4-1 springs to mind, first year in the Premiership).

How about 'most random place you have met/spoken to a Reading fan'?

Ex and I went to NYC Oct '09. On one day we took a trip down to Ground Zero and had a look around the church which backed onto the WTC. It is a shrine to the fallen, particularly the servicemen. I had a moment of reflection reading the frankly moving tributes, my father and brother both have served as firefighters. NYC in October is pretty chilly, the wind whips around the sky scrapers and creates its own little micro-climate, so I had a RFC scarf tucked under my coat keeping my neck warm. The tone in the church was reverential as you'd expect, barely a whisper could be heard. Suddenly a tap on the shoulder, a timid voice ventures "terrible result yesterday". I turned round and was confronted by a polite family of 4 from Maidenhead who were similarly perturbed about the 4-1 loss to QPR the previous day. There I was, stood amidst a living monument to the dead of the worst act of terrorism in history moaning about Brendan Rodgers.

Was in Rome for the playoff final unfortunately. Went to a pub down a side street in the quieter region of the city to watch the game. Outve all the 100's of places showing it a group of 6 or so Reading fans waltzed in at that moment. I was just shocked there were more of us not at Wembley!

I am an Australian Royals fan. Got to make it over to two games last year around Xmas time ( the 0-0 draw at Cov and the 2-1 win away at Derby when the UK was snowed out)

The Derby game was awesome... - Only 100 or so Reading fans made it as the supporters bus was turned around... It got even better when I got to see the team at the train station!

I am now moving to Canada, so will be a little closer, and will hopefully see the guys in Charlotte if that eventuates!

Brazil has actually started broadcasting a championship game every week, however reading are yet to appear I think, will try for a mass conversion of brazilians when the opportunity arises.

The cool thing about the international fans that post on hob nob is you rarely see them fade away. If you are sick enough to find hna and wait the one month to a year probation while Graham approves your userid then you are usually here to stay.

Never met one other Reading fan in NZ (I know of a couple of board members out there, but I've never met them). I have 3 brothers (2 of whom were born in Reading) but none of them follow the Royals.

I don't know any in China either. Again, I'm aware of a few board members who have been here at different times but I've never met any of them. There was even a real Chinese Royal at one point (Royal CHN) who PMed me but he seems to have lost interest.
