He is a bit of a bellend but I don't think many people would be able to have done better than this

Yeah, that is bloody brilliant actually. FWIW I quite like him; I'm always amazed at the amount of football fans who seem to have unrivalled football knowledge.

I've had enough of him tbh, too excitable and too much like a posh bloke going on Fanzone for a day. the Peterbrough comments were pretty stupid and offensive too.

His job isn't just commentating on Reading games either - he does other stuff for the BBC and obviously covers other sports on Berks as well.

Not that i'm defending his commentary (my particular irk isn't that he doesn't know much, but that he doesn't describe what's happening on the pitch) of course

Bit of a judgement call as to whether to go for that or for the "charisma blackhole" comment.

Tony Le Mesmer Despite his mongness, Tim Dellor's knowledge of the game shits all over the average paying customer at the Madejski.

Think him and Mick work well together - Dellor chats the shit and Gooding gives the "ex-pro" side of things to the show.

Its Adie Williams they need to get rid of

personally,i like listening to the comments of all three. compared to coverage of other teams in other areas, berks is by far the best IN MY OPINION. try listening to saints coverage, not a patch on ours. :)

Royal Prince A colleague of mine at work is a Brighton fan. He wasn't able to go on boxing day as he was on the road, but happened to be near Basingstoke for the second half so lumped the car stereo on BBC Berks.

I asked him what he could make out of the game, to which he replied "sod all, that twit on your local radio spent most of the time criticising our away kit and talking about car journeys and half time snacks. You'd think on a live football commentary he might actually want to spend some time talking about what's going on being that's why we've all tuned in!".

Pretty much sums it up for me!

I quite like Dellor, and one of the reasons for that is that, despite his obvious passion for RFC, he is prepared to offer a balanced view and will give priase to opposition supporters and players when it's due. As opposed to BBC Sussex / Surrey whose coverage of "Brighter Nove Albion" is tedious and one-eyed.

Me too! Passionate and with a good element of bias (although not completely blind) - it's what you want from your local radio station.

Make the most of it before the BBC merge BBCRB with four other 'local' stations in order to save money and enable them to keep pouring money into keeping all aspects of BBC Wales bilingual.

Royal Prince "Dellor also works for the England Cricket Board, as their "Head Coach -Lead Tutor". He runs the ECB Level 3 coaching programme, developing the skills of elite coaches. He is an ECB qualified cricket coach, coaches Berkshire Minor County Cricket first team and was the Greek National Cricket Coach for 9 years."

Apparently, his best playing score with the bat was 111. Hence his nickname: Nelson man, Dellor.

Aye, I don't know what the fuss is about. I can follow the game, get a decent idea of what's going on, feed off his sincere excitement or disappointment, laugh at his deliberate inanity, and feel comfortable that the guy is on the fans side, not the clubs, sticking it to the players, managers and chairmen when required.

I genuinely don’t think you need any more from a local radio commentator. If it’s factual, robotic impartiality you want, why don’t you thankless c\/nts just watch the text commentaries on Sky’s website?

“Throw-in to: TEAM READING
READING move the ball FORWARD with a PASS
“Game DELAYED due to AN INJURY.”
TEXT COMMENTRY’S wife cheated on him with TELETEXT HOLIDAYS. TEXT COMMENTRY feels SAD.”
