BWP close to a move

by robbieroyal » 03 Jan 2012 18:44

Got a mad CAFC fan mate who has a strong link with the club and reckons Bradley Wright Phillips is heavily into talks with us.
I'm wondering if it is dependent on any Kebe transfer out or not? But.... watch this space.

What are people thinking about BWP? I know he has been heavily linked before but nothing has materialised due to injury problems.
I think if Kebe leaves he could be the man to come in.

I think he could be class for us. Charlton are keen to keep him but wouldn't stand in his way if a decent fee came in from us. :D

Lazy, no...

We are not in talks with him...We rejected him because of a bad knee, we will not risk him

He has scored 14 goals and Charlton need him to go up. Without him they won't

Taken off transfer rumours:

Reading are in deep comforsation with Charlton Athletic about striker Bradley Wright-Philips brother of QPR wing man Shaun and son of Ex-Arsenal Striker Ian Wright. The deal was for Andy Griffin , Ian Harte and 600k for Wright-Philips this deal is close to complete.

Can't see us getting rid of Grif and Harte thats a load of bollox, we'd be well short at the back. Grif is out of contract in the Summer so guess he may leave??

I just have a feeling if Kebe goes that we need to replace with something? We are sitting 5th and would need to bring in someone, fair enough we have HRK, Antonio and Obita but still think the latter two are a year away from regular games.

My friend says BWP is lazy too, i've never seen him play live but think he could have an impact.

I think your right about the positions needed too. I know i'm in real hope but it's a shame we can't splash a bit of cash to strengthen. We are nearly there..... :(

At best this is a rehash of last years story. Given we passed on him then because of his knee its not exactly likely we'd go in again when the cost is higher and he's a year older

Plus its on the high comedy football rumours site so just stick this one in the trash with all the other ridiculous suggestions. More chance of us signing Robbie Fowler and of Nicky Shorey finally completing his medical at West Ham

Disagreed with LB. Mills was playing well prior to injury and looks accomplished at this level. If the CAM we signed could take set pieces well, we would be sorted and could move on from Harte.

His Wiki says that he has made 44 league starts since they signed him in Jan last year...

Scored 22 goals also.

Those signings don't mean we'd be guaranteed promotion though.
