Jerry St Clair
FiNeRaIn These mistakes were not malicious or intended and neither were the actions of fellow fans who crushed their own spporters by forcing in.

This statement is factually incorrect and, frankly, offensive. Retract it.

Its not factually incorrect at all, you must live in a cave. Its known that some( not all) of the liverpool fans were forcing their way in, they have prior on this and several people have stated this since it also took place that day. It was a horrible accident but thats what it was...an accident, fans force their way into grounds all over the world its not just liverpool fans. Are you also suggesting there was intent from police to be malicious and there was genuine intent to cause this horrible sequence of events?
Thats quite a serious claim.

There is no evidence that Liverpool fans forced their way into the ground. If you have any, please present it. Otherwise retract it.

I'm not suggesting the police were malicious. But they were incompetent and negligent before, during and after the disaster. That negligence meant people died needlessly. You are attempting simplifying the issue by claiming it was either an accident or malicious. It was, actually, neither.

For avoidance of all doubt, I have the relevant passage from the Taylor Report:

"Duckenfield (the Match Commander) gave Mr (Graham) Kelly and others cause to think that there had been an inrush due to fans forcing open a gate. This was not only untruthful but set off widely reported allegations against the supporters which caused grave offence and distress. The likeliest explanation for Duckenfield's lack of candour was that he simply could not face the enormity of his decision to open the gates...."

Additionally Taylor said that there had been a "police led vilification of Liverpool fans" and that "not a single witness" supported any of the police allegations despite the police being given "every opportunity" to present such evidence.

Downing arrested for liverpool for assault.

Oldham player racially abused by a liverpool fan. Good weekend.

Club responds with:

""The players and club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered," said a Liverpool statement.

"Our supporters are renowned throughout the world for their outstanding commitment, passion and fairness. They are drawn from nationalities across the globe with widely diverse backgrounds and heritages. "

Yes lets boast about how good we think our fans are!

They should be banned for releasing more cretinous nonsense.

What is wrong with a statement that distances their fans from the idiotic behaviour of one individual?

Not sure that you've noticed m8 - but Liverpool have been supporting racism of late, so to come out with such a st8ment is hypocrisy at it's finest.

Svlad Cjelli MPs to hold inquiry into racism in sport following Luis Suárez case

Can't they get on with the wholly more serious business of sorting the country's economy out?

We are one of the most tolerant nations on the planet and we do not - IMHO - have a huge problem with racism in sport. The Terry/Suarez/Anfield incidents are isolated cases in the dozens of professional football matches played every week. Because believe me, we'd hear about it in the usual hand-wringing apologetic way if this were occuring on the pitch or in the stands of football grounds in the UK on a regular basis.

Proving that there is no huge problem is just as valid as porving there is one. Have the enquiry, show how minimal the problem is and then hopefully the wheels will be taken off the current bandwagons.

Nothing useful will come from this inquiry. It will just be a bunch of MPs trying to prove how not racist they are.
