It's true. The cynicism and feigned outrage is pathetic.

it was largely these bargain buys and freebies that took us to the premier league and kept us there for 2 years. some people will never be happy!

My concern is we signed Mooney and he never got a chance yet he is playing in Div One for Orient now after a long loan spell at Colchester.

Hopefully Karl Sheppard will get his chance to play sooner rather than later!!

agreed
05/06 squad cost a grand total of < 5 million quid
the one that took us to 8th place cost a maximum of 6.5 million

I think fans are just (a) wondering how that signing will help, given that we haven't polished a rock for more than 7 years (b) concerned that this will tick the transfer activity box and (c) wishing for a little more investment on a proven player who can make an immediate impact, and give us that little bit of magic we need to turn a sound team into a great one.

The only thing wrong with that, is that we aren’t doing that, so it must be wrong, stoopid!

Somewhere between £4m and £5m at a guess. Off the top of my head and this is by no means accurate:

Hunt - 600k
Kebe - 600k
Leigertwood Reportedly 600k
Gorkss - Reportedly 800k
Le Fondre 350k
McAnuff 300k

Plus Andersen, Harte, Morrison, Cummings, Howard, Manset, Tabb, Gunnarsson who I'm pretty sure were all bought for fees between 100-250k

What the club thinks we need and what the fans think we need are two different things, though. The latter who are interested in promotion and football, think we need to sign someon else.

genius.

of course in the real world the owners, management, and players re actually far more interested in promotion, and football than the majority of fans will ever be.

You come out with some severe nonsense at times, but that bold statement certainly tops it.

I'm sure the owner etc. wouldn't mind. But I doubt promotion and good football is a high priority.
