Simon's Church So wherever you get the 'facts' from you'll end up with different numbers. Doesn't that make this a bit pointless?

Snowball Melon it's NOTHING to do with "statistical laws" or convention.
In the FEW cases where I have given assists which were not strictly assists
(in the sense of a deliberate flick-on or pass or header down etc, to the scorer)
I've explained myself.
That's why I have called them Major Contributions.
Here are some examples. Last season or the one before when Kebe did brilliant
(at Boro) got to the by line and hammered the ball across goal right on the goal-line
and it was deflected in by a defender. Technically an OG, and TECHNICALLY therefore
not an assist. I couldn't give a monkeys. Kebe MADE the goal END.
He has had a similar one this year and I awarded that.
Next (last season) where he dribbled 90 yards in just under half a second (joke)
and again had a tremendous part in the goal, EVEN THOUGH, AFTER he crossed a defender
touched it next before the RFC player (Hunt?) scored.
What I'm interested in is showing the players who had a BIG (attacking) effect on the goal.
Next example, Harte's super cross for Kebe to "score". That ought to have been a Harte assist
and a Kebe goal but Church touched it B4 it crossed the line, relegating a goal to an assist
and Harte to "nowhere". I gave Harte a half-assist.
PLEASE stop complaining about these things. A total of 3 this season, (wow). I'm not going
to change my beliefs. I've explained them. Take it or leave it.
PS The OS is OFTEN out and out of date. eg They didn't award an assist last season when Long (on the floor) got the ball to Pearce who scored

its exactly because you only give half assists in a few cases, ie the most recent that fit your argument, that makes them ridiculous.
if you had monitored them throughout the season, and noted them all down- it would have a modicum of credibility
and to think i used to support and back you up on here against the bullys
and this is how you repay me.
with half assists!

But we know that Snowball will just use the stats/fact that illustrate the point he is trying to make, regardless of whether they are correct or relevant.

Sweet FA to doing with fitting any argument
Are you SERIOUSLY telling me that "REALLY" Kebe deserved to not get that goal
and Harte deserved NOT to get the assist and Church deserved a goal for touching a ball
that was going in anyway? And I CLEARLY explained my motivation.
(BTW I did not award the goal to Kebe or take it off Church - but interesting "politics"
that when Church touched MCANUFF's shot - and had MORE of an impact on the goal -
the powers that be, and this list, still let McAnuff keep the goal. )
And I HAVE noted ALL the half-assist (as I saw them) for the WHOLE season, AND posted to explain.and to think i used to support and back you up on here against the bullys
and this is how you repay me.

If U are unable to understand that occasionally (maybe 5 times a season)
a player has a huge impact on a goal even if technically he is not the scorer
or the person who passes TO the scorer, that's your problem, not mine.
A player could be looking the other way, get a clearance in the back which
then drops to a striker who scores. THAT is officially an assist AKA a joke.
