"The Black Cats have made a late move for the England defender, just as he had been set for a switch to the Championship.

Reading, fresh with funds from their prospective new Russian owners, had agreed a deal to take Bridge - paying a substantial part of his wages."

Guess it shows we're looking for a left-back ...

From what I've heard it wasn't so much a deal for Bridge, it was a deal to get Frankie to some of our games

Could've brightened up match days for me, shame it didn't work out :(

If RFC really did try to get him then it's a sign of intent

A substantial part of his wages?

No way , he's been terrible recently. Probably still classy for the champ but not the place to blow the budget in my opinion. If we can pay ridiculous wages let's tap up CMS or Rhodes...

But that's serious cash if true. Bodes well for the summer, IF the deal happens.

We're after a left back, a centre half and a striker, possibly a winger.

My source didn't tell me about bridge last night, but we had enquired about the availability of a certain Ryan Bertrand

Makes sense - I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I honestly thought he was out POTS rather than Gylfi that year*

*no disrespect to Sigurdsson of course, but he didn't play the full season

Sounds very much like Reading are in a strong position to make some significant moves, be it in this window or the next one.

You're normally pretty spot on Gaz. Just wondering if we really need a striker. Bertrand would be great.

must be the exit of at least one of Church, Bignall, Manset, Williams

i'd still like another CM option, but tbf trust McD's opinion on the matter

we are. I'd expect a few loan to perms today.

The interesting thing my source said was, the only outs will be as part of swap deals. hmmmmmm

and expect a premier league defender signed on loan as cover next week
