Tails Another year of massive losses.

Chelsea in the red again....circa £67 million.

That's 3 million down on last year. Only Chelsea would put a positive spin on that! "We are on course to be in line with FFP"
At that rate buy 2050.

Highlight of Chelsea's season, drawing away with 10 men to a team who 7 years ago were playing in League 2. I suppose it goes well with the point won last time out against the team who were playing in League 1 3 seasons ago.

That's the get-out clause for the big clubs. If the debt is reducing I think they can get away with it, even if it'll take many years.

You've got to remember that debt includes Ancelotti's pay off and paying £13m+ to Porto on compensation to get AVB. Assuming Chelsea stick with AVB for a few years, that figure will come down by quite a bit.

Big assumption.

Also, Chelsea are going to have to replace a lot of the old guard in the next couple of seasons; due to Chelsea not having any sort of a youth policy, that has to come from spending, and when the club spends £68M on 2 strikers who have scored 5 goals between them in 52 matches, I suspect that the sums involved will be astronomical.

Erm we've got

Thibaut Courtois
Lukaku
Bertrand
De Bruyne
Josh McEachran
Van Aanholt
Bruma
Chalobah
Sturridge
Piazon
etc

But yes, we have no younger players coming through.

Coming through???

Lukaku cost Chelsea £13M in August, De Bruyn £9M this week - is that your definition of "coming through"??

Lukaku doesn't see himself as one for the future; he was a Belgian International when Chelsea bought him and has been in the press in January making it plain he expects to play and if not, will expect at the least a season long loan next season.

Bertrand, Sturridge and McEachran are the only players in the list you gave that may get to the level that a club like Chelsea will require. (Sturridge is arguably already there)

Chalobah is an England Under 17 international. Started playing for the u17s when he was 14.

So? Many young players who look the business at 14, 15,16 or 17 fail to make the grade at the bigger clubs; it will depend on a large number of factors, especially attitude. (Look at Morrison who went from Man Utd to West Ham, solely for the money....).

When do you think the lad will be ready to play regularly for the 1st team in the Premiership? 3 years? 5?

Is this a different Daniel Sturridge to the one signed from Manchester CIty that I saw play against us for City at Eastlands back in 2007?

Another successful product of the Chelsea academy.
