The Rouge
Not at this level he isn't, and that would do until we went back up and then we can pass him off to Cardiff again for stupid money.

RE: Wayne Bridge. We agreed a 20k a week loan for him, matched by Sunderland. He's on 90k a week at City! There's a sign of intent right there!

Interesting. How do you know the figure?
I reckon he is fading as a player to be honest and don't expect him to be a success at Sunderland (I would have said on the wayne but that would have annoyed you).

I don't know it. Just read it somewhere and seems about ball-park, stretching ourselves a bit.

He's 31 and 4 months. 36 Appearances for England. That's quality.

Was a regular for Man C, 19 Appearances for W Ham in the Prem last season and he's gone to a Prem club run by a GREAT manager

Doesn't follow that he's past it, esp at Championship level.

Don't know much about his fitness, but I'd've thought he'd be VG for us

Did you see him play for West Ham last season Snowy?

If so then you'll have noticed how he looked demotivated, slow, and yes 'past it'.

There are some things that numbers don't tell you.

Agreed, he was simply comical for West Ham. Doubtless at his best he would be one of the Championship's best players. But as to what we actually would have got from him... I'm not too disappointed that we missed out.

I don't remember his game but will have watched them

And saying "He played 19 Premiership games" isn't statting
it's just saying "Last year he played half a season in the Prem
so presumably at least one manager thought he was up to it.

But there is one stat that's interesting

Here

Martin Oneill who knows more about football than you
do or I do, felt it was worth getting Bridge in for the rest of the season

in the Prem

That O'Neill guy must be seriously DUMB cos according to reading fans Bridge isn't good enough for the Championship

Oooh, the old 'he works in football so knows more than you' line eh...

Well in that case we might as well shut down this forum as there's no point in discussing anything to do with football as those in charge always know best.

Pompous cunt.

Yeah, and I could point out how every other premiership manager who didn't think Bridge was worth signing knows more about football than he does.

I could also point out how Bridge has been more than happy to sit on his 90k wages at City than to go out and play first team football.

I could also point out how one of my best mates is a West Ham fan and was shocked at how useless Bridge was last season. I imagine he knows more about Bridge's demise than Snowball does.

I'm sorry but when it comes to a forum like this we should be able to have a discussion without someone resorting to the 'well he knows more than you therefore he must be right' line.

Otherwise what would be the point of the team board? Given that it would therefore follow that every decision made by the club is the right one...

A manager like O'Neil will be confident enough in his ability to motivate that he thinks he'd be able to turn Wayne Bridges attitude around.

After all, he's just done it with the entire Sunderland team in just a few weeks.

Fair enough, personally I think he's only brought Bridge in as back-up, but I guess we'll see.

Oh, and also, Bridge grew up in Winchester and it's pretty well known around here that he's a chavvy mong. Don't think he'd have been a particularly good influence in our dressing room.

Exactly, it is all about opinion, that's my point.

Some did, and also the fact that this deal was done on the very last day of the transfer window smacks of 'panic signing' to me.

And tbh I don't think it is. Snowball, whilst having some good points at times, puts them across in a patronising condescending manner.

Not to mention he likes to dish out the abuse himself e.g:

Snowball
Wycombe Royal
Snowball Is Bothroyd not a similar type of player to Roberts?

I always thought the best pairing was "Smash" and "Grab"

Until recently we had "Annoy" and "Excuse me, did you drop this?" (When Alf didn't play)

Do you have some stats to illustrate your point?

Yes. You are 100% tosser

I just find it hilarious that a man of his advanced years who teaches writing skills, etc comes across so badly on an internet forum and resorts so easily to personal abuse.

Bothroyd is far and away the best one being mentioned here, would welcome him in a heartbeat.

Good points.

Plus the original statement wasn't exactly a "stat"

Dude just can't accept anyone disagreeing with his dirge, that's all.
