FiNeRaIn Gordon strachan for starters, can't understand how he's not being linked. Didn't have an amazing time at middlesbrough but was successful before then and has lots of experience. Even as a short term replacement he would get the best out of his players. Curbishly, but apparently ruled out, keegan is around somewhere - I am sure there is a few more I can't remember. Of course even Bruce for 13 games. I am not saying they'd all be guaranteed success but what wolves need is a short term fix, someone to come in with immediate experience of the situation and install those battling qualities immediately. BMD does not have this experience yet and the situation he has been in at reading cannot be mirrored at all to wolves. It would not be a good appointment. its not me clutching at straws hoping he doesn't go because honestly he still has a lot to prove here with the new regime looking to push on. He's done well so far but we've not achieved anything as of yet. If money is available in the summer and he doesn't deliver promotion next I am sure he'll be out the door here.

there aren't going to be many managers prepared to risk their reputation on a short-term contract. wolves in all honesty look doomed this season.

loyalroyal4life steve bruce will get the job (i hope)

if mcdermott does take it he will be judas in my eyes

If he does go there will be reasons behind the scenes. To leave on the face of it with the club in the position we are in would be crazy but.......So the new news is Poyet. Aspirations. Wolves saying it's only circumstantial. Legs in Wolves talking to McDermott. Wolves sources dismissing it as rumours but ............

Good point. In hindsight McD did sound a bit deflated on his first post-Anton interview. Maybe he was thinking ahead that if he didn't get us up this year, he feared the Rusky would bring in his own billy big bollocks next year? But then again equally would he survive with Wolves if he took them down.

Nah. It's ok. He's staying.

I like the fingers crossed post. Massive uncertainty needs to be nailed once and for all. A statement from the club tomorrow would be the best move. Put the B/S to bed for the team and supporters. If we dispense with McDermott it could put the season into turmoil and confirm early fears that have been voiced on here.

Of course they will, firstly anyone who knows about football wouldn't blame the new manager for wolves being relegated when they've only had 13 games to save them, everyone knows the situation. Secondly football is a job and a well paid one at that, I would imagine financially it would be a good risk to take as I am sure there would be some kind of bonus for keeping them up as well as a standard wedge for the remainder of the season. Managers have and will take that risk.

Why does everyone think wolves are already doomed? Has no one even looked at the league table? They are level on points with two other clubs. One point and they are out of the relegation zone.

They're crying out for Dave Basset or Ron Atkinson aren't they?

According to this he's 4th at the mo.. at 8/1 - his closest rival is 3/1.....

http://www.thesackrace.com/teams/wolver ... -wanderers

And you have to remember you don't just interview 1 person for a job even if you know he's the one that's getting it - I know this from experience (I was the one who was getting the job - internal vacancy, interviewed with 3 others) as well as general knowledge & common sense, you have to leave your self a bargaining point. (again having been the interviewER in a similar situation, i.e. I knew who I was giving the job to)

So although someone has said that Jonny Fordham is seldom wrong - unfortunately (sorry JF if you're reading this!) but that's not my experience of him - he seems, on occasion to be fed disinformation by the club. In this instance I hope he is wrong.

If you examine the betting on the above link you will see that the next favourite after McD is Souness... that in itself speaks volumes to me, i.e. he hasn't managed since 2006! the two ahead of him are Lee Clark at 3/1 & Steve Bruce a touch less at 11/4 with Gus Poyet the favourite at 5/4 - all at less than half the odds of McD. I tend to believe the bookies over a newspaper article myself, but I have had an 8/1 shot do the biz for me before.................

Why would we let even him speak to Wolves?

William Hill has Bruce 2/1 and BMcD 6/1.

Fingers crossed they got it right.

Would be very disappointed in Brian if he took this job. We gave him his big break in management, it would be nice if he at least finished the season with us.

Especially because if he does go there we'll get all those horrible Brummy inbreds wanking themselves silly abut us being their feeder club again.

After the game in the hotel bar my mate's dad said he saw Madejski walk past with a face like thunder. Could it be because Wulfs had approached him to talk to Brian and Brian had told him he wanted to go and listen to what they had to say?

Except they'll get relegated regardless and we've got an exciting future ahead...if McDermott really is stupid enough to take the Wolves job then we're better off without him. Not sure he will though.

Agree that I don't think he'll go.

However money talks, and I don't think he's on much here. If Moxey offers him 30k a week then I could see him jumping ship.
