TBM
muddyfeet Maybe he wants more stability than a rolling one yr contract

Exactly - he has already admitted not knowing what the new owners have planned - for all we know they may have someone else lined up

This is one of the possibilities that genuinely concern me,
especially with talk of dead players like Owen

Libertine I will say this again...if SJM and the new pending owner let McDermott walk away at this point in the season, and jeopardizing it, with us sitting in 3rd with a very good shot at automatic promotion...I will take a much dimmer view of our potential future with the new owner.

I don't care who they get in, even Fergie, trying to get a new gaffer in at this point of the season will probably be disasterous. Trying to change the style of play, getting to know the personnel, etc. I will be really pissed if this goes down when we currently sit in 3rd place in the table. It would be amateur hour.

I have heard (as impossible ad it sounds) that the club do not believe McDermott will be the man who us able to return us to the promised land. I'd say my source is probably about 80-90% reliable. Worrying. Believe it only if you want. :(

If Wolves offer McD a three year contract it will put him in a very strong position.

Anton/Sir John would have to match it or lose him. I am sure he would prefer to stay but you could not blame him for wanting more security and he will at least know for sure whether he is in the new owner's plans or not.

Would be very bad news for us fans though if he went.

shitting hell just lol at this thread. The Russians haven't even completed their buy out and people think they want a new man in and would be listened to by the club about Mcdermott going to Wolves.

He's no longer favourite by the way, its Bruce again. Johnny Fordham needs to be publicly flogged in the forbury.

Wonder what Jimmy thinks of all this as he only signed because of McD.

We will be in serious meltdown if McD goes!!

I get the feeling its more of a clause in his contract that McD is allowed to talk to Wolves. I agree it would be bad for us for him to go now as we're doing so well. But, it may see an end to hoofball.....

Silver Fox Best we give it to him then

Can anyone see any reason why Brian would swap us for Wolves at the moment?

IF money wasn't the issue. NO.

But, he is probably on AT BEST a fifth of what low-end Premiership managers get.

If he was to get 2.5 years at 5 x the current salary, he would )right now) think he had made it.

How hard would it be to turn down 10-15 year's salary?

Now add in the fact that he isn't a "sexy" manager and PERHAPS he doesn't deeply believe that the new owners are looking at him long-term. Right now they can dump him for (say) 200K.

Now think, even if he failed at Wolves, (but was on 1-1.5 mill)

We don't know if he's thinking of leaving, but it's not impossible that the new owner
got over-excited on Saturday evening, started talking of signings, and McD thought "Uh-Oh...."

Whore Jackie Pass him most days on the way to the training ground. Almost crashed into his Merc this morning, as instead of turning left at the Sindlesham Mill roundabout as per normal, he went straight over, seemingly heading towards the Midlands.

LOLOL........ well I suppose it is in that general direction - a li'il bit random don't you think tho?

Unless Nigel Gibbs is offered the chance. He does all the shouting during games anyway

Gibbs would be the only whom makes sense right now, if McDermott goes, and he has no experience. Not to say he couldn't do a good job but it is kind of a tough spot to put a rookie gaffer in.

Only a rumour right now, I am not sure if I would be surprised or not. If it happens I predict a disaster, the team is the epitome of McDermott's work ethic and organisation. If anything it could be a test of the pockets of the new owner, I wouldn't blame Maccy D for using the link as a bargaining tool. If Anton Ziefbxzhwg comes up with a good deal, I think he (McDermott) will see it through, I just don't see him as a Judas.

to summarise, it would be a f%cking disaster in my humble opinion.
