Friday's Legacy
i can't see why we can't offer a new contract to mcdermott unless it means zingarevich wants to see the season out before deciding who leads the club.

Cypry There's a potential horror scenario, where McD and Hammond go (and possibly even Gibbs), AND the TSI deal falls through. We could then have no budget, no manager and no funds to replace him, our proven DoF gone with little chance of finding someone comparable to dig out turds which polish up well, and facing the annual cloth cutting during the Summer - that scenario is one that is potentially disastrous...

Royal Rother Jeez, I'm officially bored of this thread.
Just get on with your lives and stop acting like a load of bloody drama queens.

LoyalRoyalFanTBMLoyalRoyalFan I just can't see the logic behind McDermott going to Wolves.
Granted Wolves are a bigger club than ourselves, but he is leaving behind a legacy he could easily finish. We are 3rd in the table at the moment and he could lead us to the Premier League. He could follow in the footsteps of Steve Coppell and easily make himself a Reading legend.
Does he want to be remembered for a play-off final defeat? Or does he want to be remembered for being the 2nd manager to take Reading into the top-flight? He has worked with this club for 10 years and the club is in a very good position at the moment, why would he walk away?
The players obviously respect him and he clearly believes in the squad.
If someone was offering to double your wages for at least 3 years, you're saying you wouldn't consider going?
For money reasons, yes. Footballing reasons, no. Unfortunately it may be all down to money.
