Transfer Market Feed @Signings_TDD
Also reports state Wolves were DENIED permission to speak to McDermott. Doesn't mean McDermott wanted to speak to them anyway. #readingfc

Inside sources at Reading believe they will announce tomorrow the news of Brian McDermott signing a new contract #wwfc #readingfc

We live in hope! :D

Read some of the comments on here.

They sound like a right laugh.

I work with a Wolves fan, and his take on these rumours.
"It's a step backwards for him" :D

See this is it, if we really wanted to keep him we would just deny them the chance to talk to him - he would then have to resign which would then not even guarantee him the job. Fact is we wouldn't get much in way of compensation if Wolves took him...

If only this had come from someone more official other than 'Transfer Market Feed' (or Fordham obviously). Still, it's made my mood a little better! :D

If he's gonna leave I'd rather see him take the England job for Euro 2012. That'll go tits up, Wolves will go down and we can continue as normal for next season.

I wonder what reports they are considering everyone else has said the clubs media team and all the press guys contacts seem to be passing on no comments.

Agreed. You'd think the club would be shouting from the rooftops about keeping hold of Brian - they usually love a bit of spin. I'm not convinced by these twitter ramblings at all.

My nightmare scenario, for the short term, is if these later reports are right and Wolves raid us for both McDermott and Hammond. I would imagine we will find everything out soon enough...within 24 hours.

And might I add I don't put much credence into these rumors but it sounds like someone (in the press) has been talking to someone (at Wolves) off the record which might indicate their intent.

I wouldn't mind a bit of being an expensively assembled team doing crap under a rich sugar daddy for a couple of years. It would make a change to see the likes of Michael Owen and Alexander Hleb in the hoops, while a celebrity manager tries to explain away our failure to maintain a promotion challenge.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be more than happy for the TSI deal to go through, but......

It's not yet a done deal...Samuelson has a track record of making it look like a deal is in the offing which ends up not happening...

SJM went to great lengths on Football League Weekend to emphasise that the deal is not done, sufficiently for me to think he was over-egging it a bit, almost as though he was trying to prepare the fan base for potential bad news....

Add to that the apparent possibility of Brian leaving and I find myself wondering if there's more to it than meets the eye....

Too many people are posting thoughts regarding us having money now, and why don't we just offer a new contract to McD - the FACT is that we don't have any money YET, and there remains the possibility that we might not have any for the foreseeable future.....you'd be a fool not to at least consider that as a possibility....

Agreed with no disrespect to Brian. And why would someone report on Hammond being part of this just out of the thin air?

well that's pretty much depressed me to death. all very probable. thanks so bloody much

i would hope though with anton being at the game at the weekend that things are progressing as we would wish. he looks very into us. if portsmouth can get the corrupt investors through the fa screening, then i'm sure anton will pass with flying colours.

Seriously Curbishley has come steaming back in with the bookies...around 3s with most of them now.

Wolverhampton.....yesterday.....around tea time
Morgan: "So Mr Curb do you want the job?"
Curbishley: "Yes, but I've had cock all to do with real football management for a year or two, so I've taken up playing Football Manager as Man City, and they get bag loads of cash innit to spend. I need loads of cash to spunk on Bosnian internationals. £20 mill should do it guv"
Morgan: "Bollocks. We ain't got a pot to pi$$ in. Maybe a mill"
Curbishley: "Well balls to you and your Black Country chavs. I'm orffff"
Morgan: "Waitamoment! I have a plan! Go and tell the dirty journos that I'm a pcunt and that you'd rather suck Joey Barton off than work for me. The bookies will then put your odds up to something daft and I'll get Jez to nip out with a comedy beard and have a sneaky mill on you. In the mean time we'll splash all over the press that we've knocked up some half decent bod from a team we persistently rape and pillage, that bald guy who looks like the baby off of Shooting Stars will do, leak it to them that he's a shoe in, then - boom shaka laka - I'll appoint you, ching ching, and you can sign Senijad Ibričić for bag loads of wonga!
Curbishley: Bosh! Jobs a good 'un!!! See you in a few days
Morgan: Jezmeister???? Get in here!!! We're sorted!!!!

About as believable as some of the other sh1te doing the rounds.
