Tokyo Sex Whale If I was fordham and my source was 100% trustworthy I'd be getting a bank loan and laying that all day long on betfair.

bobby m's syrup Having supported the club for over 40 years, I am a big fan of the so called 'Reading way'. Nevertheless, the prospective new owners are as yet an unknown quantity. Accordingly and from their viewpoint, perhaps the important thing is to keep BMD until the end of the season/playoffs.
Although we are by no means in pole position for automatic, there is a very real chance of a play off position. Promotion now would be a bonus and presumably cheaper to achieve than by waiting another season. A change of manager at this crucial point could be disastrous.
Personally, I feel that BMD has been an excellent club servant and deserves recognition. Whether the new hierarchy will continue to see him as the man to take Reading to a respectable and secure berth in the Prem is another question. As such, I would expect any lengthy contract to be fairly elastic. Surely the job at Reading will attract several well-qualified candidates, eager to step into a comparatively wealthy, (we hope) and ambitious club setup.

Pepe the Horseman "And prospective new owner Anton Zingarevich was so keen for Royals’ boss to stay, that sources told the Reading Post the Russian’s 51-per-cent buyout of the club would have been in jeopardy had McDermott decided to leave."

TBM Wolves fans are still saying McD will join them as there hasn't been anything from the [RFC] club...................which is true
Why does fordham get to break the news - surely Reading would be creaming themselves over announcing this on facebook/twitter

I think it's because he hasn't actually signed anything as yet so they don't want to show their hand.
I'm sure once it's official they'll make an announcement, although I don't like the silence one bit!
