Hoop Blah
TBM Wolves fans are still saying McD will join them as there hasn't been anything from the [RFC] club...................which is true

Why does fordham get to break the news - surely Reading would be creaming themselves over announcing this on facebook/twitter

I think it's because he hasn't actually signed anything as yet so they don't want to show their hand.

I'm sure once it's official they'll make an announcement, although I don't like the silence one bit!

No signature = No contract

Adie Williams said this morning that Wednesday is the day off for players, so its an ideal day for McD to travel to Wolves and hear what they have to say WITH the contract offer from Reading in his hand.....

Reckon we'll hear either way by 5pm

Are there any direct quotes from McDermott in that piece in the Post?

Also, as I've already said, it's not up to TSI to negotiate the deal until they've DEFINITELY signed all the paperwork for the takeover, shirley? What happens if the deal falls through? JM won't be able to afford to pay McD the increase and McD will be pissed off and want to leave when he realises he's still got to cut the cloth.

In the last hour McDermott has gone out from 2/1 to nearly 10/1 with Betfair!

Fingers crossed!

There is obviously something in place as we signed the players in Jan, I would think that any decision made by the club and that is passed by AZ and approved would be part of the initial signing of agreement.

The bookies were very slow to react to it though, leaving some very tasty odds available!

Oddschecker showing the bookie odds generally are starting to move against McD though some still have him as favourite. The averaged out odds now show him 3rd against Steve Bruce and Lee Clark.

7/1 from Corals now...?

Maybe all the "done deal" boo-hoo merchants will be putting their money down now?

Tossers.

Which players, besides Roberts, did we sign and how much were they?

I think this could all be one big ruse.
Our chairman announces that Brian has signed a new contract, the new owner completes the deal and we get the normal "This is a sign of Reading's ambition blah,blah,blah............................."
Brian might know that Maurice Evans got the sack when we were 3rd in the league-different times, different chairman but like Maurice and Lee at Huddersfield there is not always loyalty shown by a club towards it's employees.
A precarious job at the best of times and from our point of view it would be sad to see him go but if Wolves offer him relatively big money and a reasonable term of contract it would be quite understandable for him to go.

When I first started watching football Wolves were just about the biggest club in the country (IIRC a crowd of over 80,000 v a Russian side?)and had a number of players in the England side.
They are far from that standing these days but have a fairly wealthy owner and are currently (just about) in the Premier League and are planning a ground extension whereas we have an unknown potential new owner and at best this season will possibly make the play-offs.
A chance to be a hero at Wolves by keeping them up and presumably earn considerably more money or stay where it is all about what might be.

His own star is very bright at the moment and nobody could blame him for cashing in as that star dims very quickly (think of Keane,Curbishley,Jewell etc.)and it doesn't take long in football to go from hero to zero.

10/1 on Stan James now, if you don't believe Fordham here's your chance.

He doesn't need to say anything........at the end of the day neither club has actually stated that McD is the man they want, its just journalists trying to get people to visit their website/listen to their radio station or buy their paper.
