Royal Lady You all get far too carried away about TSI and AZ at the moment - are alarm bells not ringing for ANY of you? :|

So far as a result of the link with TSI/AZ we have brought in three quality players and it looks like we have retained the services of a top manager. Under the old regime I suspect we would not have made these signings or retained the manager - so let's give TSI/AZ a bit of slack and hope for the best.

If Brian has committed to the club that is a really positive sign that he has now been convinced of the new owner's good intentions.

TBM - If this contract with McD isn't done and dusted, then there's no point getting too excited! If it is, surely someone from the club or a representative for McD, if not himself, would have made some sort of statement by now - "I'm pleased to be pledging my future to the club as there has been much speculation and uncertainty recently. I was flattered to be linked with the vacation position at WWFC, but my future is with Reading and our aim, as a club, is to progress in the shortest amount of time possible and that is now the focus of my job" - or something.

No comment from anyone smacks to me of no deal tied up - and Fordham jumping the gun or seeing Soggy's post on here and just rolling with that.

So, oxf*rd off Fordham and get your own stories.

Soggy is very likely to be right. My old man has told me he spoke to someone on the board last night and they confirmed.

Bang on the money Andrew.

Without AZ we lose our best players and Brian, with AZ they stay and we add to the squad. I can't think of too many better endorsements than Brian committing to TSI's vision for the future of the club.

Bloody hell RL, have you only just started following Reading? This sort of thing is ALWAYS announced at a press conference including photo ops in front of that little round table.

How do we know its not done and dusted?........it may only have been offered to him yesterday and signed late last night, so this morning they [the club] are just doing the legal shit and getting it rubber stamped but in McD's eyes he is and still will be Reading manager as he has signed a contract that the club have offered him - they wont suddenly withdraw it 12 hours later

YateleyRoyal BBC Sportsday saying that Wolves have tried and failed once again to go for Curbishley

Steve Bruce apparently very annoyed at hearing nothing since his interview, and then seeing Wolves allegedly move for Poyet and McDermott. I hope tells them to stick it too.

Royal Lady

Royal Lady Can anyone please confirm that there are actual comments on there attributed to Brian - because I can't see any in the screen print of that article.

Brian hasn't said a word since Friday.

Am I the only one who is a little surprised that neither JM nor Brian has been quoted as saying how pleased they are that he is staying - how he is looking to move forward now and excited about the future of the club in the coming months or something similar? :|

I expect that is because the new contract is on the table if McD wants it. It doesn't mean McD isn't talking to Wolves today first.

Agree with you both.

AZ wants to do it. So does JM. The body language at the Burnley game was very positive.

Optimism called for.

Probably a 3pm press conference or thereabouts. They like to keep us guessing!
