Schards#2Silver Fox Can everyone stop sucking soggy's dick please? He said Brian signed yesterday, the official site clearly confirms he signed today
'greed, took a shot in the dark and, if he was wrong, it's not like many people don't think he's a berk already anyway.

Royal Lady Well, this news has certainly brightened my evening! I was seriously thinking he was off. I love him as much as Sir Steve Coppell now.

I could/should have been more succint really:
I was wrong to say it looked like a done deal.
I was not wrong - imo - to say it would have been contemptible to walk out in those circumstances.

Focher just seen someone that looks very much like McDermott pulling onto the A404 at Burchetts Green towards High Wycombe, at some speed too. Probably on his his way to the M40 northbound.

At the risk of my second whoooosh in two days, he was probably on his way home seeing as he lives in Bourne End or Marlow (can't remember which).

DOYLERSAROYALER this has been great PR for the club ... in that BM is being seen as a potential Prem level manager, and with him now staying, that can only help the club attract top players to the club ..

BR2 I think this could all be one big ruse.
Our chairman announces that Brian has signed a new contract, the new owner completes the deal and we get the normal "This is a sign of Reading's ambition blah,blah,blah............................."
Brian might know that Maurice Evans got the sack when we were 3rd in the league-different times, different chairman but like Maurice and Lee at Huddersfield there is not always loyalty shown by a club towards it's employees.
A precarious job at the best of times and from our point of view it would be sad to see him go but if Wolves offer him relatively big money and a reasonable term of contract it would be quite understandable for him to go.
When I first started watching football Wolves were just about the biggest club in the country (IIRC a crowd of over 80,000 v a Russian side?)and had a number of players in the England side.
They are far from that standing these days but have a fairly wealthy owner and are currently (just about) in the Premier League and are planning a ground extension whereas we have an unknown potential new owner and at best this season will possibly make the play-offs.
A chance to be a hero at Wolves by keeping them up and presumably earn considerably more money or stay where it is all about what might be.
His own star is very bright at the moment and nobody could blame him for cashing in as that star dims very quickly (think of Keane,Curbishley,Jewell etc.)and it doesn't take long in football to go from hero to zero.
