Both overrated. Murty more so.

Here goes......

Parkinson is the most over-rated player in RFC history - in my opinion.

Great bloke. Never gave less than 100%. Very basic footballer.

I have no idea about Murty's coaching ability but he's a great guy, he's still 'current' in that many of the squad have played with or against him and of course he's been there, seen it, and done it. I'm sure he'd be an inspiration on the training pitch and around the club.

Parky, God love him, never played at the same level and too much water has flowed under the bridge. He's Mr Reading to the fans* but outside of the boardroom (and that's changing rapidly) not many at the club would hold him in especially high regard. That might work if he ever came in as gaffer but he's just a (average) coach and manager of other clubs now.

Loyalty and effort should be applauded and encouraged.... but never be mistaken for ability, which is so often the case on HNA. I'm sure it's the same at most other clubs too.

Well,if the Neil Webb precedent is anything to go by, he'll be selling lottery tickets door to door.

personally, I have nothing against Murty - but its the baggage (or shall I refer to her formally as his wife) that he comes with that p1sses me off.

If he joins RFC as a coach and she can stay out of the limelight then I am all for it.

All she ever did was get involved with a charity.

Isn't the reason he 'officially' retired is due to Southampton offering him a coaching contract. :?

No thanks, no friends in business and we are not running a club for sentiment

Wish him all the best though, may need to do a forster and work from the bottom with a club like dover

In raising awareness of the charity she and the other RFC wifes were involved in. She wasn't sat there giving Murty tips on the off-side rule.
