Tabb & Manset

by Dare to Dr£am » 23 Feb 2012 12:08

I've been told that Portsmouth enquired about the loan signings of both Manset and Tabb. SJM in no uncertain terms told them to bog off, and it seems other clubs are taking the same stance towards them. Tabb remains in BM's plans, Manset is off to China on loan as we know.

Portsmouth have also been told it's one out and one in if they want players.

So we'd have to pay ALL their wages if we sent them there on loan? What's in it for us? :| I'd tell them to shove it.

It's reassuring to know that John Madejski holds your opinion in such good stead.

The gist of it is he wont help a club that doesn't run itself properly.

The last time they came out of admin they went and brought in Premier League players (Kitson and Lawrence to name but two), and then added the likes of Tal Ben Haim who is on £38k a week.

Good on the old man!

Football league told them they can't bring any players in until they only have 14 players available so can't see this happening...

Just a point on the high wages.
IIRC Ben Haim was a so-called "free transfer" to a Premier League club.
If say he had been worth £2 million and Pompey had paid that up front plus say £20k per week in wages nobody would be saying much now because over 2 years they would have shelled out £4 million in transfer fee plus wages compared to about £4 million just in wages which is what £38k per week costs over 2 years.
As they clearly couldn't afford either way of making payment it meant that they would be skint now rather than 2 years ago!!
As for a swap with Tabb I quite liked that young winger they had-a biggish lad who might have been Turkish or Egyptian but I don't know what happened to him.

The one who scored against us? Can't be bothered to google his name...

Tbh the only players I would take from their team would be Huseklepp (looks like Birmingham will sign him in the summer now), Pearce and Ward.

I like Tabb - seems a bit mean to send him to Portsmouth

i heard it was manset and antonio they enquired about, but either way, we told them we weren't interested in loaning players to portsmouth. i've no idea if they offered to pay their wages or not, but i think the fact that portsmouth can't afford to pay their own players and have now asked the remaining staff to defer their wages for a while, it's no surprise we wont let our players go there.

As much as I think Tabb is useless portsmouth can do one.

In Regards to Tabb. Nice guy, gives his all, very professional. no footballing ability. The amount of times I've heard BM and some of the other players state how nice he was you'd think they were doing a clip for take me out. I've not heard one word about how good he is in terms of footballing ability.
