So, it's ok for other players to want to better themselves when offered stupid money, but it's not ok for Matt Mills? Anyone else in his situation would have jumped at the chance of joining Leicester. And if another club is willing to pay up to £5 million for you, then I think it's fair that you think you might be a reasonable player. If he leaves Leicester in the Summer, do Leicester have to pay us the remaining money for him? Maybe the £5 million or whatever it was was based on him achieiving a number of things with Leicester - so we may not get ALL the money in the end. Is that a possibility?

£4.5m rising to £5.5m IIRC. That extra million we may not see if he goes.

Thanks. I'm presuming we haven't had all the £4.5 million yet either -

Tokyo Sex Whale Not so sure we would have a sell on clause with a transfer fee of 4.5 > 5.5m.

The transfer fee was astonishing, a sell on fee would be almost unbelievable.

Just because you fancy him.

He gets stick because he was an arrogant twunt who thought a lot more highly of himself than his ability justified. He wasn't good enough for us to pay £2m, let alone Leicester playing £4-5m. Not only that but he left us solely for money rather than any ambition. Leicester were spending big and badly and were by no means certain to compete at the top. We on the other hand had just finished 5th and got to the play off final. And oh look... we're 4th and Leicester are mid-table.

Fully justifiable LOLz for an odious player who should have been so much better than he was, if only he wasn't a cretinous pratt.

You have a choice of staying with a team who, despite reaching the play-off finals is looking to offload their best players, or going to a team for a lot more money who appear to have more ambition with the money they are spending. The fact that we're in a better league position than them couldn't have been foreseen before a ball was kicked. Most people had Leicester nailed on to go up. So he took what he thought was the better option. And he's still earning more money than he would have done here, so he's hardly an idiot.

There isn't a person in the stadium who doesn't stick their finger up at the East stand at least once a game.

To be fair when Ian and Finerain agree with each other in disagreeing with you, you just KNOW your opinion is right!

He was my most hated ever Reading player when he was here. An utter, utter cnut and I hope he never plays another minute of professional football. I also genuinely never thought he was good enough for a team top half Championship team.

IMO, as he matures, Matt Mills will become a very good centre-back.

Getting knocked-back a bit now is part of that maturing

I'd be a lot more gutted to see Pearce go than I ever was when Mills went!

That's not really a fair & considered comment - unless of course you sit in Y25, you know? the section that boos it's own players!.... i.e. the section he gave 'the finger' to - I was in Y22 & was at that game & saw the incident before I'm accused of responding to hearsay. And FTR I don't care how bad or indifferent a player is you DO NOT boo a player from your own team, Slate him on here, in the pub, on the bus wherever you may be AFTER the game but NEVER during...

He turned around on the spot to make sure he gave the finger to all three home stands...

Did he? I seem to remember him running past Y26/Y25 and showing his finger as he did so. :|
