Gordons Cumming
JR Simon Osborn clattering the crossbar against Wolves with a stunning 25 yard volley. Was still shudderring when they ripped Elm Park down.

No, the shudder was always there from way back when a shot from Percy Freeman hit it.

HTH

Yep - like on his debut against Chester, ploughing down the wing - shooting from about 30 yards - swear the bar was still shaking about 5 minutes later.

Also, from the 70s

Minty Murray sitting on the ball as a piss take and the opposition player getting booked for his reactions
Tommy Youlden's free kick into the Side netting (well it wasnt a goal).

Bit later:

Messrs Hicks and Senior's tangles with the Futchers
Seeing the Madejski for the first time, thinking "Is this really ours?"

Getting to Newport a little late in the 1985 season, and entering the ground to see around two/thirds of the place taken up by the 4,000+ Reading fans. Just a sight that you had to see.

Hicks holding the Simod Cup aloft and over 40,000 Reading fans (yeah I know...loads of day trippers) being there. Great feeling. Might only have been the Simod Cup but great feeling.

And....when Gilksey scored the deciding penalty in the Simod Cup semi-final against Coventry. The place went ballastic.

Southampton at Elm Park. Around 1977/78. League Cup tie. 25,000+. Was in the Southbank and hour and a half before kick off. Absolutely rammed. And the noise !! Just incredible.

floyde getting a fist to the face after Palace away Jan 06.

Powerful thump?

Enough to bloody my nose.

What HH fails to state is that I was thumped as a result of stepping in when he was shoved to the floor on the Holmesdale Road at the end of a temptuous 1-1 draw in the Championship season, when there were plenty of insults flying around outside the ground. Next time he's on his own, gobsh*te that he is  8)

Hasn't stopped me returning to Selhurst Park since. Cos I am a bloody bloke.

My vote: A pissed up FLTLR turning the carriage lights off as we alighted the intercity 125 service back from QPR moments after the fastest back-down in history when fronted up by some angry passenger from Swindon.

Royal Prince Cambridge away - 2001

We were 1-0 up from an early Cureton goal in an otherwise drab game. Matt Robinson was sent off and it became only a matter of time before an equaliser was scored. We saw out the game to finish 1-1.

So why do I remember such a crap game...

... Rougier was brought on to play as a lone striker, but was so shockingly bad in the role that he was subbed back off again after only 15mins on the pitch to be replaced by Forster.

I was at this game, and remember getting really annoyed by Cambridge's lanky ginger striker who came on as a second half sub, 'what a pr1ck' I thought. Turns out he was a decent player though

Yea ^

we had a period where we have had some real quality strikerss up front for a decade, now we are back to complete dump up there again like the keith scott/fleck/brayson,etc era

Roberts is ok but he's a short term option and the rest of his potential partners massively struggle at this level.
