Ideal Media reporting that Russian Kgb-o-vich has told the players he holds them responsible for AVB's failure and there will be large scale changes over the summer.

I assume this means Terry and Lampard will be out the door.

If he holds the players responsible why on earth did he sack the manager ffs!?

Errrm, because you can't sack the team :|

But the point being, if there are to be large scale player changes in the summer and its the players being held to fault... why sack the manager, if you don't blame him and its going to cost you millions?

Presumably, because until you can get rid of the players causing the problems (in the Summer) you have no choice but to get rid of the manager whom they all ignore in the dressing room/on the training pitch or whatever, if you want to start winning some games.

It sounds like things got so bad that keeping AVB until he could get rid of (and/or replace) the bad apples wasn't an option and with Champions League football a must something had to give in the short term That was only really going to be AVB considering the team couldn't really function without the senior pro's and just turfing them out isn't really an option.

Sounds like things might not improve if the 'sources' The Sun refer to are right.

I'm surprised they didn't get Franco Zola in for the rest of the season really. I'm sure pretty much all the players and fans would've responded better to that.

I really don't see the link to Mourinho. Surely Mourinho couldn't be arsed to go back there?

Why don't they just go for someone like Moyes who has proven season after season that he can get players to play to their maximum capacity?

You'll get Zola. Abramovich won't welcome having Mourinho back, and Guardiola is way out of Chelsea's league

Thanks. At least we all know Zola will be the new manager. Just going to let the sports writers know on Twitter. Back soon.

They'll probably want someone with Europa League experience

Tony Pulis?
Steve McLaren?
Chris Hughton?

obviously not the last one if JT's staying

I can see them getting Guardiola.

He's said he wants a different challenge and whats more different to managing a load of world class players with a fantastic work ethic than managing Chelsea?

You say that, but if anyone he'll be able to get the best out of Torres, which tbh is what you lot are lacking....someone to bag you 30 goals a season

He's won the Champions League and the UEFA cup too so has that european experience which it seems Abramovich wants to win.

He did, but then his Liverpool side finished a massive 37 (Thirty Seven) points behind Chelsea in the league when he won the European Cup. He'll have to improve his results in the Premier League.

Hope they aim again for a bloke who's managerial experience is 1 season in a league comparable to Scotland. Maybe they are already checking out who has recently starting managing in the Greek or Czech leagues

True but tbh he probably learnt from that.....the fact is, you lot want the Champions League and to win that you need to alter your style of play to suit it, which tbh will be a massive improvement on this season anyway which could see you not even finish in the top 4 anyway
