Starfish
Victor Meldrew
Avon Royal Nice to see the dirty little cheat up to his old tricks again.

ER..Sky commentators back-tracking when they had seen the incident again.
Unlike Bale last Sunday and Young in the England game this was far from being a blatant dive.

I understand the referee giving it, especially considering the position he saw it from. What rankles is that Suarez stayed down and pretended to be injured (which he very clearly was not) in an attempt to get WS booked/sent off. He's certainly not the only footballer who does this, but it still isn't pleasant.

I'd like to see the Premier League check for brusing after each game and ban players accordingly.

I can't stand it. Does this go on in Sunday League too?

When I played Sunday League/for my uni, you went hard into tackles, and if you got hurt you got hurt, but if you didn't you brushed yourself on and carried on.

And you stayed on your feet too. If there's a foul coming, take the contact and get on with the game. Can't stand play-acting.

I suggest that anyone look at the video of the 1966 world cup final.

Alternatively, if a player requires treatment, he has to be substituted. Why oh why the football authorites don't clamp down on this is beyond me. They use video evidence when it suits after the event. Why not dish out retrospective bans for blatant cheating.

If you have to substitute a player who needs treatment you're just increasing the reward for foul play.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez: “I want to dedicate to Muamba the goal and the FA Cup semifinals qualification. Keep fighting buddy, don’t give up! You will make it!”

Some are putting that on a par with John Terry's photo

Cue photo of Suarez and Kenny hugging weary Fabrice, sporting uneasy smiles, while JT presents him with a bouquet of flowers he’s stolen from an old lady dying of Alzheimer’s in the ward below.

To be fair to Suarez, he is in a no win situation; he tweets support for the guy - everyone is on his case calling him a hypocrite etc, but if he DOESN'T tweet support, those same people will point to that as proof of his racism.

Yeah. If he DIDN'T kick the black guy and say it was because he was a "negro", he'd be a hypocrite. But when he does, it makes him racist. Lose-lose, poor chap.

A goalscorer again-pleased for the lad for all the ridiculous disproportionate stick he has taken over the past year.
BTW it does seem as though diving and scoring go together these days;Rooney,Lampard,Ronaldo,Long plus loads more.
Surez is no worse than so many.

Is it now an actual law of association football that Luis Suarez is unable to win a penalty, no matter what a defender does to him?

Hoist by his own petard, I'm afraid. Like Nani, or Young, he throws himself around with so much drama it gets referees questioning what they've seen.

Saturday was a stone-waller though, the Norwich defender just landed on him.

Booked 3 times for simulation since joining Liverpool.

Ref's WILL give the defender the benefit of the doubt (as with Young, and increasingly Hazard) as they watch replays of their colleagues getting conned by these players; hopefully it will make these players - and others (and I include a certain Mr Pogrebnyak in this) - think twice before going down like a sack of spuds at the merest of contact.

I think he's a very good player but not the best at sticking the ball in the back of the net.

Lay low for a while keep on playing well, try not to be too much of a tw@t and the abuse will
die down in a bit. He has been asking for it

Well I knew that, I was surprised NFA had dug that up after Suarez got a hat-trick.
