A report on sky sports news saying that air Alex Ferguson is going to sell dimitar berbatov in the summer, would love him partnering up front with Jason Roberts when we get into the premiership

LOL.

On the plus side a Roberts/Berbatov partnership means we could save money on pro-zone.

Apart from the fact there is absolutely no chance, he is precisely the sort of player i wouldn't want. Any one who has watched the lat 9 games would have worked out that Roberts is rubbish in the air, he holds the ball up with his body strength backing into defenders and bringing it down on his chest . Noel always used to win the headers when church was in the team but as he has the first touch of a rapist the ball never used to stick making Noel's headers look wayward. With Roberts in the team the ball does stick but it only works because Noel does the donkey work and wins the headers. Berbatov is a lazy shit and rubbish in the air and goes missing far too often in games especially on a wet Wednesday night away to Wigan. Having a then 35 year old striker and a lazy shit up front fills me with dread. We are about work ethic and not much else.

He will have the pick of most top clubs.

His wages will be incredible.

Think more along the lines of Kenwyn Jones, than Berbatov, if you want to be ambitious.

Of course i dont want to watch this dross (dross but effective) week in week out but you cant turn into a team playing sexy football over night. If we get promoted i can't see our style changing that much. If we stay up for a couple of seasons with the right additions we can, and im sure we will, be playing a game which is easier on the eye.

To be fair, this deal could work out for both clubs.

We get a striker with a great scoring record at the top level of english football and Man Utd get a majority stake in our club with the benefits for having two Grade 1 academies for years to come.

If we somehow managed to sign Berbatov, by hypnotising him or showing him the range of the Russian paper industry, we would change our style for him. If necessary we'd drop Kebe and play a hard working but useless right winger* instead, because Berbatov is better than any player who has played for us by a distance.

*no "so just a hard working Kebe?" jokes
