Kitson could come back again.

by Ups and Downs » 17 Mar 2012 08:52

Reading have been in talks with Portsmouth about also taking Kitson back on loan until the end of the season. Reading want him, the powers that be at Portsmouth want to shift him off the wage bill but Appleton is keen to hold on to him as he will have no strikers left.

I know we seem flush for strikers right now but id love to see him back here.

I wouldn't have him back. He really was poor when he came back last time.

He wasn't great last time, admittedly. But I still think he could do a job.

If he dropped down a league, he would be amazing again... I can never understand the mentality that makes people want to continue at the highest level they can manage, when they're clearly past it - surely it's better to be a big fish in a small pond, than a little fish in a big pond?

He could be revered and god like somewhere - so just go do it...

Not in the Pompey squad, so looks like he's going somewhere

Bristol City were keen in January and may follow up their interest again. If McDermott believes Kitson can add something them I'm all for it. At the end of the day we aren't the ones who see the strikers in training every day, he is! If something happens to Roberts or Hunt then we have to rely on Church and Le Fondre. Kitson wouldn't be worse than Church, and does offer a lot more in his hold up play. I'd take that as back-up for the remainder of the season.

Not in the pompey team today...incidentally against Brizzle City...so wouldn't surprise me if he's on his way there...

That has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks now. It might have a bit more about it if it's reached the terraces.

In Brian we trust. If he thinks Kitson is the man, he's the man.

Kitson's one of my favourite ever players, but he is very far from the star we used to have.

He's picked more than twice as many yellow cards as goals in 31 games this season.

7 yellows, 1 red and 3 goals.

Peterborough would make sense given he is from not a million miles from there. I would still welcome Kits back as a squad player. Obviously not the player of 5 or 6 years ago but still an intelligent player who would be useful to have on the bench to come on and close a tight game down with quarter of an hour to go.

I would love this to happen, even if he played just a small part. He got unfair stick for his last loan spell, the team was performing poorly at the time, and he did score 2 important goals, away at Donacaster, which was a great goal and matchwinner, and the opening goal at pride park in which we won 2-0.

It's not like we can't score goals, so on that basis I'm OUT.
