TBM
Royal With Cheese But you started off by stating long went for 6.5 million, possibly rising to 8.

Errrr no I didn't, re-read!

I said Longs deal was worth up to 6.5m* so Rodriguez deal being worth up to 8m is not unrealistic

*according to reports

Errrr - yes you did....

Here is your first post on Long in this thread:

TBM Long went for £6.5m

Maybe its a deal worth up to £8m

You didn't mention Long in any other post before hand.

It's a pretty specific statement that people picked up on.

I'm happy to move on, you seem to be happy digging a bigger hole. I'm not sure I understand why.

Selective quoting there.....the whole conversation was actually this

Friday's Legacy
TBM
shaka's shorts Daily Mail says Everton after him today

For £8m

He has one year left on his contract. He wont go for that.

TBM Long went for £6.5m

Maybe its a deal worth up to £8m

So as you see, FL said he wont go for that - so i said long went for £6.5m, so maybe the Rodriguez deal is worth UP TO £8m (ie, he wont go for that but it could evetually be worth that). Bascially saying Long only had a year left too but went for a high price.

Then you decided to jump in to our conversation

Sorry - have I inadvertantly hacked into your PM's?

What are you wittering on about?

TBM Statement: Long went for 6.5M (I can't see the relevance of the previous post)

Others: That's bollocks

TBM: Posts links suggesting Long went for 4.5 million and some suggesting Long went for more.

TBM: Denies positing initial statement that Long went for 6.5 million

TBM: Confirms post stating Long went for 6.5 million.

Can we just leave it there? or are you going to keep going?

Would you also argue the colour of Orange Juice?

I'm not sure why you can't just say something like - oh, I ment to say up to 6.5 million, rather than just denying you posted it in the first place.

Anyway I've had enough of this tedious bollocks - it's not my fault you've been to the Snowball school of not backing down.

Jesus - you're like an annoying little dog

I didn't deny saying Long went for £6.5m - i even posted links saying the deal could be worth up to £6.5m. My point was that the Rodriguez deal (that the Daily Mail reported at being £8m) could be worth upto £8m, as Long, who also had a year left on his contract, went for £6.5m*

Im sorry that you're either too dumb to understand that, or maybe you just wanted a argument.

But now you can't be bothered (although i know you will still reply with some shit) we will leave it here.

CARDIFF City’s attempts to land Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez are perhaps more important as a symbol than an actual piece of business.

With the likes of Fulham, Newcastle, Everton, Norwich, Southampton and Reading all in pursuit of the 22-year-old, the field is crowded and the odds heavily stacked against Malky Mackay landing the Championship’s most coveted asset.

It's more than I'd want to pay for him, but if you compare the headline figure with those we received for Doyle and Long (neither as technically gifted) or Kitson (older and more injury prone) and it looks like a reasonable deal.

If he fulfils his potential then he'll be worth a lot more after a decent season or two in the Premier League (two big IFs there of course).

No, that's what he's COSTING.

He's only worth what a team is willing to pay for him.

Ergo that's what he's worth.

Burnley: OK
Soton: Wait... 4 mill?
Burnley: 8
Soton: Ok, 7
Burnley: Thanks
