He's going much higher than Reading.

I was surprised the commentators were speculating on his future as I thought he had already agreed to sign for Manchester United but following on from loyalroyal4life's point I would think they will loan him out possibly to a Championship team.

They were talking about him at length on SkySportsNews earlier; he's attracting bigger fish that us I think. He looks great, though. Some of those goals are fantastic.

Not that he was half as talented as Powell at around the same age. But if you think about it James Mccarthy of Wigan had a couple of big clubs after him too im pretty sure or at least they were at the time if we are talking about Liverpool.

He joined Wigan in the end because he knew he'd be regularly starting games in the premier league and only bettering himself as a player. I think his value will have 100% inflated a little now because of all the interest and his recent form that hasn't gone unoticed.

If we did have the funds however it would be interesting to see what he would say if Mcdermott did sit down with him and could guarantee he would be a regular starter. Don't get me wrong he will be a top 4 player eventually if not next season he is too talented not to be. However if we can guarantee regular games for him I don't see what harm it would do him if he spent a couple of seasons with us.

Even if we did, I don't think we'd splash the cash out that some of the top 4 clubs would be talking about in transfer discussions. Bit of a long shot in my eyes the best we could hope for is a loan deal.

I know he hasn't played at a great level of competition yet, but considering his achievements so far, what I've read of him, and the little I've seen, getting him for £3m (rising to £6m) sounds like a cracking bit of business by Fergie.

I hope he gets a real chance at United as he's one of those that really looks like he could be part of the next 'golden generation' and possibly the obvious long term replacement for Rooney.

I reckon he would be a great deal for us on loan. Would only benefit both United and us and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw involved for England soon if he carries on the way he is. He will only get better and our club would provide the perfect platform to prove he could cut it at the top flight consistently.
