Starfish I have to admit that after eight games, I have had very very few correct predictions. The only exact result I got exactly right was Spain-Italy. I also said that Germany and Russia would win (but I was way out with the scores), and apart from that, everything else has been completely wrong. There's a part of me that finds that pretty gr8, to be honest.

I only bet on footy at big international tourneys......... like you i've been rubbish so far. Have called most games wrong and lost a fair penny to boot

England got what they came for so we have to be happy with that. Thought we started brightly but went off the boil once we scored. France had more of the game but just didn't create clear cut chances; even the goal was a dig from outside the area. Expect to see us be more adventurous in the next two games against teams who don't keep the ball as well.

Ref was no England fan, that's for sure.

Good defensive performance...will be more attacking in the next 2 games though.

In general its been a decent start to the tournament..shame there is a lot of negative news off the pitch.

Because they're a fcuking irritating bunch of cnuts I expect.

I wish the authorities had crushed their oxf*rd instruments then shoved them up their arses, then we might not be subjected to their fcuking annoying repetitive drone game after game.

I don't like them very much.

So after we get our standard frustrating non-result v Sweden who's up for a game against a Ukraine team with something to play for?

Shevchenko - pure poetry!

A figure to restore the Ukrainian national pride even If he's a little pretentious at times

Fact is Sweden have 1 world class player and then a team full of low to average type Premiership quality. If we don't win then we deserve to go out in the groups.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... nd-group-d

I have to say I’m pretty :| at reports like this one from the Guardian and also people at work today who are moaning about the England performance. We managed to subdue a much more talented French side for most of the game and for periods of the match we looked more comfortable on the ball than we have for quite some time. Hodgson’s only been manager for about 10 minutes so I’m not sure what people were expecting.

I agree that Young needs to see much more of the ball though, I hope he sticks with the same side against Sweden.

How likely is this scenario to happen this friday:

  • Ukraine to beat France
  • England to beat Sweden
  • leaving England and Ukraine to play out a draw to eliminate the French

:?:

Ibrahimovic is a massive pcunt

he may occasionally be good at football but if I was Swedish I'd have a spazfit every time he did something half crap.

on a brighter note, Stevie G played well yesterday I thought

Decent enough performance I thought, France are a good team and we restricted them to only a couple of chances. Milner should have scored and we could have done better for their goal but it was a good start.

Gr8 seeing Sheva the hero.
