Hoop Blah I'd still be interested in Andrews, especially as he's available on a free.

I thought he was awful- free would be too expensive.

I'm impressed this thread has lasted to page 3, given the drivel of the original post.

I though someone had implied on another thread that there was a very good chance of Reading signing a player currently at the Euros, now given Brian's recent trip to Denmark (BV Copenhagan?) one would suggest that perhaps we're looking at a Danish player?

What about the danish left back Poulsen he was brilliant going forward I thought as well as his defeneding. Think hes at AZ Alkmaar at the minute so realistically possible he would want to give the PL a try but at the same time I imagine there will be some very big clubs in europe watching and taking note too.

I thought he's been effective without actually looking particularly talented. Like someone playing above themselves because of the occasion.

pea Kerzhakov was brilliant until it came to shooting. Great movement, clever play and almost made himself a hattrick had he hit the target each time.

Isn't this the perfect RFC signing?
BMD recently said that too many scouts focus on the weaknesses of players, i.e. what they can't do. BMD likes to sign players based on their strengths...

Kerzhakov's Strengths: Great movement. Clever Play. Gets into good positions.
Kerzhakov's Weaknesses: Can't shoot to save his life.

Sign him up!

He'd be my tip. We need a left back and we like attacking ones. He destroyed Holland down that flank. I can't see how you can see someone have two good games then conclude they are playing above themselves. Theres always that risk...But the aforementioned Coentrao was a player that stood out to me in WC2010... and that was good enough for Real Madrid.

RockheadRumple The player that really impressed me actually was Czech Republic's right back, Gebre Selassie. He was great.

Just searched up his market value on www.transfermarkt.co.uk and it said he was worth £1.3mil. Not bad at all! I'd really like us to go in for him.

I'm sure in the past the club have said how it's been a very good exercise to at least go in order to do some networking etc.

I'd agree with what McDermott says about not learning much about the players though.

As long as we don't go for Ward then im happy anyone but him he is the downfall of Ireland and certainly would be the downfall of our defence!

I don't really think anyone from Ireland really stood out last night. Andrews played ok but I would agree that Ward was awful. This is the Wolves player yeah? Says a lot.

Yeah hes just generally had a shocking year and across the euros seems to have something to do with a lot of the irish goals conceded especially against Croatio. He's just woeful haha
