Silver Fox Can Spain please not get beat here? I really don't think I'll be able to cope with the pundits claiming we'll never have a better chance

Don't worry, Germany are still in so that scuppers that one.

Great fk from Andrews just then.

If Croatia are dominating how come every time I glance at the match Spain are in possession around the Croats box!? Darn it.

Avon Royal At the moment Spain are going to finish second in their group - that will make tomorrow a right laugh as we aim to match, but not beat, France's result!

I don't understand this group....

Anyway, i'd value our chances against Spain more than Italy tbf

English players are mentally weak - we would have lost against Spain before we even took to the pitch.

Substitute Spain for Germany/Italy/Holland/France...... I still fancy us against Spain more than Italy

Depends on whether the players buy into the "beautiful" football hype that has been annoying the crap out of me since they beat the worst team in the tourney

ZacNaloen The law has always been that way, we just ignored it in England cos we like big tackles.

More backtracking than Frimmers!

You called it wrong, get over it.

Who's back tracking? You're flailing, you're too scared to even check the facts.

Ian Royal I'm watching the Ireland game - much better than Spain (which is on on my pc nearby)... have Croatia actually got out of their half in the last 20 minutes?

They are dominating right now.

They really should be 1 or 2 up

Fair play for sticking to your guns but I think I will go with Alan Hanson & Lee Dixon's opinion on defending rather than HNA's ZacNaloen

The Football League Fouls and misconduct are penalised as follows:

DIRECT FREE KICK

A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following six offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
- kicks or attempts to kick an opponent
- trips or attempts to trip an opponent
- jumps at an opponent
- charges an opponent
- strikes or attempts to strike an opponent
- pushes an opponent
A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following four offences:
- tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, making contact with the opponent before touching the ball
- holds an opponent
- spits at an opponent
- handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)
A direct free kick is taken from where the offence occurred.

PENALTY KICK

A penalty kick is awarded if any of the above ten offences is committed by a player inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided it is in play.

Where does it say anything about getting the ball first Soggy?

Zac, clearly the ref didn't think it was reckless, careless or using excessive force... I'm inclined to agree.

On the performances today Croatia something here, but if Spain finished second and England topped the group I'd be shitting it for the quarters

Its more of a fair enough if we came second and got them :?

It doesn't and rightly so. I never said that was anything to do with a rule of anything, it would be a f**king stupid rule to introduce!

Whether or not the Ramos tackle was a pen, the pull down on Corluka definitely was.

Croatia have been robbed.
