I can't be arsed to argue with you about whether it was a red card or not.

My original post was a joke, just to clarify.

He clearly just wanted to leave a little mark on Cech, to let him know he won't have it easy all game, and never meant to cause any sort of damage like that.

The movement of his knee was clearly with the intent of brushing Cech, albeit not anywhere near as hard. Attacking players do that. Go on, instead of rubbishing everyone else's opinions, why not share your own?

Royal Ginger Seriously, how did he get away with that?

Are you seriously implying that he did it deliberately?

Jeez.

No but the ref was miles away, it looked bad on first impression and we've all seen people sent off for much much less.

I thought it looked pretty innocuous and only Cech's later obvious serious injury made it look even remotely nasty.

Oh goody, more idiots intent to subscribe malice where incompetance is a perfectly good explanation.

I don't believe there was any malice. My point is that without slow-mo I thought it looked awful, it would've looked even worse from the ref's position, and goalies are always favored.

Sebastian It's clear that cech took hunt's back leg and hunt fell. I don't think there was any intent at all.

Should have been a penalty, though.

Correct. Only one camera angle showed the clear truth in that statement, but true it is. (Can't find it on YouTube now, but it was low down from somewhere near the half way line iirc.)

percy_freeman Simon Shepherd, member of the Crap Keepers Union, warns Federicci about Premiership strikers.....

TBF, I can't remember a better goalkeeping display than Simon Sheppard at Leicester in 1995.

"One of the best goalkeeping displays I have ever seen" Not my words. The words of World Cup WInning England Legend, Gordon Banks.

I know exactly the angle you mean, and I can't find it either.

Haven't seen this angle, if so I guess I'm wrong, fair enough. If anyone could find it that'd be great.

Sebastian Here at about 31 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgX1Yb9p ... re=related

Cech's leg takes Hunt's right foot and then (in my opinion) Hunt trips and his knee makes contact.

I'm not convinced either way on that 'evidence' (and, by the way, that's why video replays are a bad idea) and the only person who truly knows the answer is SHunt himself

Cech knows the answer too, but for some reason he can't remember

I see what you mean, to me it looks like Hunty trips on Cech's knee and then fell, making that contact while falling. Hadn't seen it like that before, cheers.
