Friday's Legacy Previous to the club distancing themselves from this move, I heard from a Huddersfield friend that a deal was in place, but they wanted to secure a couple of replacements before confirming any deal. Their fans wont take his sale too well apparently.

Tonight an unfamiliar source corroborated this, and believes the deal is in place, contrary to what the club has said. (I can't vouch for him, but it's his take on it.)

Huddersfield are talking to Ross McCormack and another striker, although the other is apparently at an early stage.

Also the Huddersfield friend of mine also says their chairman was asked recently about Morrison still coming to the club, and he said "It's up to Reading."

File under speculation, but it does sound like there is a lot more in this.

Sounds promising, would love him here - for the right price.

Couple of Brighton pages on twitter seem to think they are set to swoop for Rhodes.

Surely he wouldn't do a Mackail-Smith?

this would be good news if we got rhodes. we still need an attacking midfielder, and a couple of defenders though.

It's one thing to know someone who works at the club, now you have numerous sources? And by that I assume you mean people who post rumours on Twitter?

Christs sake - getting really tedious all this ITK bashing...

I know someone at the club too, he passes me bits and pieces - in the main I keep them to myself out of respect for his confidence...in fact he dropped a massive hint to me between Christmas and New Year telling me that there had been a big, unexpected board meeting that week, and he thought a takeover might have been in the offing - I took it with a pinch of salt at the time, but look what's happened since.....

However, I went to a family birthday party the other day and, out of the blue, met a couple who used to put up the academy boys when they arrived (in fact Gylfi stayed with them when he first arrived) - nothing to say they couldn't have given me some info (they didn't, the emphasis is on "used to") - I probably wouldn't have put as much credence in it as something I get from my friend at the club, but "sources" come in all shapes and forms.

If you lot want to keep on bashing away at FL & co. then that's up to you, but don't complain if they finally decide to vote with their feet and take any snippets of info they have elsewhere - UR&G will contain very little of any substance if that happens...

Cypry – I honestly couldn’t give a flying one if the ITKers take their ‘insider knowledge’ elsewhere, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. I just find it amusing that there’s a network of people making up rumours on Twitter who then get cited as a source. Jay tries to give the impression that he’s a journalist, it’s all a bit odd.

Without wishing to pour cold water on the latest rumour, isn't it the case that the main tweeter on this is a Year 11 schoolboy?

Tbf to him, he's always said he relies on a number of people, and I don't think I've ever seen him claim to be ITK either.

Really? Get over yourself! If you couldnt give a flying f*ck then why would you bother to read let alone reply to posts on the Rumours and Gossip pages??? Where would you rather get your transfer gossip from, the Tits & Bum?

I'm totally relaxed old chap. I take everything I read on here with a pinch of salt much the same with newspapers. Whether theres substance in any of the rumours is neither here nor there, you chose to read and beleive what you want. Still, at least I'm not the one coming across all irrate by bashing others for posting information on a 'Rumours & Gossip' page. Definition for rumour: gossip (usually a mixture of truth and untruth) passed around by word of mouth. These pages are exactly what they say they are sweetheart.

Not ITK bashing as such, but has FL ever got anything right? Gone on and on about Marriapa, Sig and Rhodes, none of which have happened

What a lot of people fail to realise is that not every player we speak to joins us. Just because we are in talks with X does not mean the deal will happen. So whereas FL has confirmed at various times the players we are in talks with, just because that player hasn't signed doesn't mean he was making it up or passing on incorrect information.

You'd be amazed looking in from the outside that we all support the same team based on some of the comments fellow supporters make to each other on here. It's not difficult to work out which individuals on here have some good links and sources and FL does get a lot of solid information. And lets try not to forget that his (and others) information is posted in the "Rumours" and "Gossip" section. So if if it upsets you that much then simply do not read it. But try to keep a level sense of perspective here.

So if we don't sign Rhodes then it doesn't mean that those claiming talks are in place are lying, it's just that the deal did not go through. He's not some bored teenager sitting in his bedroom making up rumours for the hell of it, but just someone trying to be helpful by passing on information with the view that it may be substantial.
