Dare to Dr£am Fee agreed with Palace, now up to the player to choose us or Southampton.

We have offered him a better contract then Palace. We are hoping to get him to sign before the end of the week. The fee is rumoured to be £4-£6million.

For an out of contract player? GTFO

Players under 23 who have come through club's youth system still demand in transfer fee in the sense that the selling club will be due compensation (a "Training & Progression Compensation fee"). Either set by clubs in negotiation or tribunal.

Palace are very twitchy where tribunals are concerned after the pittance they feel they got for Bostock.

I can see they looking to get a deal from one of the clubs chasing him but to an extent it's out of their control.

TheVeryLoyalRoyal Rumours suggest that is what Saints offered him. It seems like it is around £2.5million according to the ever reliable: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... al-1140886

If it's what Southampton offered him, then that's his wages/signing on fee/loyalty bonuses etc, not the fee.

Fully aware of that.

Also fully aware that it won't need £4-6M. Which was the point I was making. :|

I'm very happy for you. Point is that the ruling means it's still a competitive bidding process in terms of fee, which makes the out of contract point less relevant than is normally the case...ergo we may have to pay over the odds if we really want him...

Although not dead , this deal is very unlikey to happen as we have been asked to be kept informed of his situation without really banging on the door to sign him. We already have one up and coming RB in Cummings. It would appear we are looking at more experienced options

Player spoke with Southampton, Personal terms not an issue but he is not 100% convinced about joining them. It seems Fulham have ended their interest as well. I was given the impression he is holding out for a move to West Ham, but he would certainly consider us a more attractive option than Southampton.

My source said he gave it a 5% chance he would sign for us.

Now Gunter coming assume it's down to 0%.

Looks like a Saints v W-Ham shoot out.

Signed for Saints......

‎Departing Crystal Palace full back Nathaniel Clyne has revealed he has signed for Southampton.

The Eagles star had been linked with Newcastle, West Ham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Fulham and Reading but the Saints have won the race.

”First and full most, I would like to say a big thank you to the palace fans, for all your support since I’ve been here,” Clyne said on Twitter.

“It’s a great club and I’ve enjoyed every minute, but now I look forward to a new challenge.

Clyne then retweeted “@Nathaniel_Clyne welcome to saints! ‪#premierleagueclub,” from a Southampton supporter

Good signing for them.

Although it's quite a step down from the clubs he was being linked with last season.

I agree, Zaha would be an excellent addition to the squad. Have we actually shown any interest though?

Lots of rumours today that we've been talking to Palace about one of their players.

The only player left of any quality that could step up to the Prem has to be Zaha?

If there's any substance to this then I fancy Church being part of any deal, even if only a season loan in return.

@ReadingFC__News said we'd spoken to Palace since the sale of Clyne to Southampton but they don't know who we enquired about.

What about Parr? We were close to getting him last summer, but I'm not sure the defence needs him now.

I know we're very keen on bringing in one more striker if we can, and three strikers appear to top the list. Two play in the Championship, the other the Premiership, and it isn't Defoe. I've been asked not to add any more at the moment..

Rhodes, Sordell and Long?

I think that is a bit more realistic and would be chuffed with any of them

Someone on Twitter by the name of @PasstheOranges

As mentioned a few weeks ago, Reading are interested in Zaha and have been talking to Palace about him for a while now. #readingfc #cpfc

Is he not a winger? Fridays_Legacy mentioned we were after a striker and midfielder.

@FL Do you consider winger as Forward or midfield?
