cmonurz Liverpool reportedly have a bid for Joe Allen of £10m + a loan of Jonjo Shelvey rejected by Swansea, although he apparently has a £15m release clause in his contract, so that one seems only a matter of time.

So much for this "agreement" Rodgers has with them

It’s an agreement, but there’s been no noise come out of Swansea about it, so presumably they aren’t too bothered. With Allen, the likelihood is he’ll go somewhere, be it Liverpool or Spurs or wherever.

but that was only to a ‘big five’ club - so im guessing it'll probably be Spurs

Not sure why you try to needle me about Liverpool.

Apparently Allen's contract stipulated the five clubs, which were City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, which given Swansea are resigned to losing Allen, could actually see Spurs buy him for less than his release clause, if that's where he decides he wants to go.

In an effort to drive interest in the player, Swansea have decided they now are annoyed at Liverpool's approach for Joe Allen.

As I said above, they are stirring interest in Allen. If they wanted to hold on to him they'd have kept quiet. Moaning to the press because Liverpool asked about a player?

Presumably they've just said no? Of course not.

Earlier this week I heard on SSN that Liverpool were expected to bid for Joe Allen as other Premiership clubs had shown an interest and in those circumstances Liverpool were entitled to also bid for the player.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18995674 - the Hammers have made a bid for Carroll, on loan with a view to a permanent £15m transfer next summer.

Arsenal signing Sahin on loan apparently. Great signing if true.

Liverpool were, but they went for the stronger option of Joe Allen, at double the price. :D
