He got a goal every three games even barely playing for United, and whilst almost permanently crocked. If someone with 40 England goals and a career at some of the best clubs in the world doesn't fancy the Championship, fair play to him.

He was on Goals on Sunday yesterday morning and spoke very well I thought. Made all the right noises about moving for career reasons and not for money. He did reiterate he didn't want to play in the Championship though

Article at the weekend suggested that he's really not fussed with football any more. Owen's priority is to remain in the North West and find a club prepared to pay his PL level wages, which in turn fund his stables.
