A well done to Pompey and the hastily assembled all stars.
Presumably the players signed on loan all feel that they have a point to prove and their first two results show what a bit of team spirit and desire can do.

Truro City heading into Administration.

The Cornish Gretna. Bankrolled by a multi-millionnaire and steamrolling everyone at their traditional level. Not so long ago they were talking of building a 20,000 stadium, getting into the league and rivalling Plymouth.

It was the beginning of the end when Kevin Girdler left Truro.

A few QPR fans giving it the big one after their dealings in the transfer window.

Expect to see them on this thread in a few years facing the demise of their club, looking for sympathy & claiming its "not their fault"

A couple of Truro City fans came into the pub I work at the other night. Was a little shocked.

25 players in a year they've signed, and some big name players who would demand significant money at the same time. Sustainable model? Absolutely not.

Wonder what Tredder's got to say about it all?

Last I saw was his argument that their net spend has been less than Reading's.

W, and indeed, TF

Why are people having a go at QPR all of a sudden?
They are splashing out money to build a side that might keep them at the top level over the next few years knowing that the riches paid out for staying in the Premier League would then be available.
In the meantime they are looking to build a ground capable of holding 35,000 or so and ,assuming they remain at the top level, they consolidate their position as a regular top level club.
In the meantime presumably they are doing what all clubs are doing and that is trying to develop their own players.
It is a gamble,as is spending little or no money, but it is very dismissive to say that this approach is not sustainable-it could work and fair play to Fernandes for having a go.

But it is unsustainable.

Team A decides that spending £30m guarantees safety (which is what you've suggested above).
If Team B decides that spending £35m does the same, Team C £40m and so on, eventually the original £30m is not enough, team A gets relegated and the shit hits a fan large enough to be seen from inside a football stadium.
As with all gambles, you need to be able to gamble what you're prepared to lose. Any more than that is football business suicide.

Think I read somewhere that their wages last season were 183% of turnover - it can only have gone way over that now. That is just unsustainable. The next Pompey just waiting to happen.

I'd like to see them be the real hoops from liquidation.

It is sustainable when one of the backers is the richest man in the world. There is no FFP in the premier league so they can spend what they want, same as Chelsea and City.
