They're publishing it in Reading Matters. If the club are asked if we are interested in a certain player etc do you think after 20 days they have to disclose everything they are working toward?SLAMMED wrote:The Freedom of Information Act gives you the right to ask any public body for all the information they have on any subject you choose. Unless there’s a good reason, the organisation must provide the information within 20 working days.
I'd like to know what was discussed in the fans forum last night.
I look forward to hearing from you.
it should be, what do they have to hide???Sebastian wrote:STAR isn't a public body. HTH
and if they were, your request can be ignored as it does not meet the definition of a request as defined in the act:Sebastian wrote:STAR isn't a public body. HTH
Request for information.
(1)In this Act any reference to a “request for information” is a reference to such a request which—
(a)is in writing,
(b)states the name of the applicant and an address for correspondence, and
(c)describes the information requested.
(2)For the purposes of subsection (1)(a), a request is to be treated as made in writing where the text of the request—
(a)is transmitted by electronic means,
(b)is received in legible form, and
(c)is capable of being used for subsequent reference.
Sorry, why should STAR be part of Government or an Non-Departmental Government Organisation?superreadingfan wrote:it should be, what do they have to hide???Sebastian wrote:STAR isn't a public body. HTH![]()

Forgive me, but I'm struggling to understand what exactly the principle is ... it seems like you want an organisation run by volunteers and which has no external funding to provide a range of benefits, including representation of your views, to you, and you want this as a right, without you being prepared to amke even a minimal financial contribution to that organisation's costs.Green wrote:It's not really about the money, it's the principle.
I wouldn't join if they paid me £10 (perhaps in the form of a money off voucher at the megastore, or discounted coach travel)
FWIW they do, as best they can with the resources and people they have.Green wrote:TBF I'm happy going unrepresented, I don't really yearn for such an organisation to exist.
What does get my goat is STAR claiming to be a body that champions Reading supporter's interests.
Steady now.Green wrote:Not really sure Alex. But down with this sort of thing.
