TheSiege 20yrs-old. Dubbed the new Rooney when he played his first game for Everton. Hasn't had enough games over the last few years and took the interesting step of refusing a new contract at Everton and putting himself on the market! Mark Hughes wanted him for QPR but their buying spree caused the owners to start being a bit careful At this moment, the only offer for him is from Oldham! Worth a punt?

I think you are getting a little carried away by that BBC artical on him.

If he was any good, he would have been snapped up by now.

No - the chairman didn't want him, the manager did.

Read the BBC article on him

Well, yeah........but i think its more to do with the fact he was supposedly better than Rooney at that age and they both came through the Everton ranks and made a debut at an early age

But now at age 20 and can't get a new club whereas Rooney was lighting up the Premier League and England's Talisman?

Decent player... definately worth a punt, better than Church and Hunt, but probably will have to play 3/4th fiddle with LeFondre here

Needs a new agent who will stop inflating his ego so much and advise him to get on the pitch and put himself in the shop window as soon as possible

TheSiege I was not suggesting that we rush out and sign him - more, wondering whether other fans knew more and could say whether he was worth a punt! I notice that the whole of Scotland are looking towards Rhodes to fire them into the World Cup Finals! So, for those who keep trying to do a King Canute - YOU ARE WRONG, WE SWHOULD HAVE SIGNED HIM! Sorry to shout but some people appear to be deaf when a man speaks sense!

 Here we go again.

And the Scotland manager doesn't even rate him higher than Kenny Miller. Says it all really.

Can I just check something?

Are you saying, because a load of Jocks THINK-HOPE that Rhodes will fire them into the World Cup finals

that's some kind of proof that Rhodes is good?

How many of said Jocks are skilled, experienced managers, scouts, coaches?
How many of said Jocks have actually seen him play?

Baxter has really stalled since coming through Everton's academy.

He is the same age as Jack Rodwell. One is an England international and plays for the best team in the country, the other has been rejected by Crystal Palace.

What they did five years ago against mickey mouse opposition is irrelevant. What is relevant is that right now Baxter is not good enough for the Championship, let alone the Premiership.
