2 gigs in a venue this size in 13 years should tell all you need to know about it's desirability to promoters.

That those events sold out suggests that the promoters are probably missing a trick though.

The Chilli Peppers sold out 4 nights at Earls Court so perhaps it was convenient overspill.

Probably includes everyone in the satellite districts that obviously would travel into the reading borough.

Harpers So Solid Crew i think you will find MK is a sattelite town of London, built to take the people London could not. Many moved out for a new life.

That's exactly the reason why it ISN'T a satellite town!

We currently have an attendance ratio of 99.3% this season. If we stay up it wont be long before we hear some more about an East Stand expansion..

Average so far is - 24,049

That doesn't seem right, do the attendance figures assume ST holders turn up...?

Plans to be re-submitted as they expire in a few months.

"Permission to expand the stadium was initially granted in 2007 but, under the approved plans, work would have to start by November 2013, a scenario which is now unlikely, given they would only decide to go ahead in the summer.
However, Madejski says they will resubmit the application."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21365929?

So it looks like summer 2014 as earliest start date, assuming we stay up now and in 2013/14.

Are you being fooled by the fact we have those idiots from London playing rugby at our stadium? WE ARE NOT IN LONDON!

And most of us aren't Irish either.

But I thought AZ said we'd start expansion at the end of this season, if we stayed up? If we started it this Summer, we wouldn't need to reapply for planning permission. Why the change of heart I wonder?

Anton clearly gets excited, and then gets reigned in by his management team quite a lot.

Firstly I would imagine to contract the builders and to get things generally organised for a rebuild, so it is done as efficiently as possible and with as little impact to the paying customer, takes quite a few months to put together.

Secondly we now have new owners and more money behind us therefore the plans that were originally approved may not be quite what we ant to do any more, it could be that more money allows us more flexibility in the method of construction and what we actually want to include.

Therefore it makes sense for Anton and the board to re-evaluate the permission granted and seek permission again, which I imagine would take 6 months minimum to receive once the plans are submitted.
